What U2 song do you usually listen to whilst driving/traveling?

Mine:

Vertigo
Heartland (perfect if you've had a long day and you drive home)
Where the streets have no name
Mofo

City Of Blinding Lights
Gone
Crumbs From Your Table
live version of Elevation from the Elevation tour
Beautiful Day

Nothing beats Elevation and Mofo.

Beautiful day is great when you are stuck in traffic.

Oh, and for me, Miami. I like to yell Miami in an angry tone directed at other drivers.

Great question.....

When I'm driving around Las Vegas at night, I like to play "I still haven't found what I'm looking for".
It reminds me of that video.

Windows down, air flowing in, sound full blast........people giving you thumbs up.

Agreed. In fact I think Rattle and Hum on the whole is a great driving album.

This is something that new U2 is probably the best for, in my opinion.

City of Blinding Lights
Vertigo
Elevation
Beautiful Day
Last Night on Earth
Mofo
The Fly
I Will Follow
Gloria

Edit: Though, at night, New Years Day if by far the best song to drive to. Just awesome.

I have a U2 CD for driving at night. Can't recall the entire tracklisting but it has:

Tomorrow
October
Drwoning Man
Elvis Presley & America
MLK
Walk to the Water
Luminous Times
Love is Blindness
Velvet Dress (Jools Holland version)
Two Shots of Happy
Stateless
Never Let Me Go
Ground Beneath Her Feet
Slide Away
A Man and A Woman

Very moody - and perfect at midnight.

driving in the morning (I've got a playlist on my ipod just for the occasion) :

- Beautiful Day
- In God's Country
- Angel of Harlem
- I Will Follow
- WTSHNN
- UTEOTW
- The Fly
- Mofo
- etc.

driving at night:

.. basically the entire UF album
and the majority of songs from JT with 'Zooropa' and 'Drowning Man' :D

basically a lot of their 90s stuff

uteotw and the fly do it for me, also zoo station and mofo are great

Vertigo
Beautiful Day
Elevation
The Fly
Helter Skelter
All Along the Watchtower

GREAT topic Wayne!! Going to use some of the suggestions here!

I'm honestly surprised that not many people have listed City of Blinding Lights. I mean, how can you not just completely floor it when Bono starts belting out "TIIIIMMMMEEEE WON'T LEEAAAVVEE ME AS I AMMM"?!

It's just exhilarating.

And I want to go out driving now.

Funny story actually. I was driving home from work, traffic was the worst I had seen in years, and the whole office had gotten word that lay offs were looming forward. To put it lightly, I was pissed. I cranked Exit (it always seemed like a perfectly building song to me), I was so into the song that I didnt' realize how fast I was going, and I would up getting a ticket.

Both Streets and COBL have this build for me, and I start by going like, 60, and all of a sudden I'm belting out OH YOU LOOK SO BEAUTIFUUUUL TONIGHT and I'm going 95. Whoops.

Beautiful Day is also pretty great for driving, and I really like listening to Red Light at night while in the car. I utterly adore listening to New Year's Day while driving in winter, surrounded by snow (Although I think my best NYD moment was when I was at a ski race, and they played it right before my run for me over the PA. Best motivation ever.)

Good thread.

City of Blinding Lights - get's my ass moving every morning :D
Elevation
Beautiful Day
Bullet the Blue Sky
Pride
The Fly
