Tell me about this song: Alex Descends into Hell for a Bottle of Milk/Korova 1

Yes, it's part of the score Bono and The Edge wrote for a stage production of A Clockwork Orange. Apparently either the director or the writer himself (Anthony Burgess) wasn't that happy with the score Bono and The Edge wrote, calling it 'wallpaper music'. They probably expected some R&H-style music while U2 was moving on. In the book 'Into The Heart' by Niall Stokes there is an entry about this song, but since I'm at work at the moment I cannot look it up.
Oh, to explain the title a little bit: Alex is the main character of A Clockwork Orange, Korova is the bar he and his homies are frequenting and in the world of A Clockwork Orange milk is the drink to have (IIRC the milk is mixed with some drugs).

As for my personal opinion: I love the song! Sadly, it's a bit short, but it has a good thumping beat and strange sound effects. I'm still hoping more of that musical score will surface.

C ya!
