survey-what shows did you see and where?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
London 22nd Aug - 2 hours(ish) by train

Slane 2 - 4 hours by car, 2(I think)by ferry.

Wish it could have been more, but annoyingly I was on vacation when all the other UK shows were, and my parents would not have been amused if I said I wasn't going. Grrrrr!

I'm saving up for next year though - fingers crossed!

Elevation concerts attended!

May 5, Lexington (1 hour away) right outside of the heart!

May 10, Indianapolis (2 hours away) in the heart up front between Edge and Bono!

May 12, Chicago (6 hours away) didn't get to go! BUt I still have the unused tickets and was there in spirit!

Oct 15, Chicago (now it's 4 hours away), I finally make it to Chicago!!!

Oct 19, Baltimore (???? took a plane), near the tip of the heart getting crushed. Cool thing of the show, got to meet the band before the gig and got all four autographs.

Nov 18, Las Vegas (another plane ride, side of the stage. Great show cos I got to meet a lot of you!!

Saw em twice.

Anaheim #2 - Hour and a half there (we got a bit lost). 2 hours back (who idea was it to close off an ENTIRE section of I5???

LA3 - Hour and a half drive there. Ten minute drive back. Make no sense? Well, youve obviously never met the 10 freeway.

Me and my friend both thought Anaheim 2 was the best show we had ever seen. That is, until we say LA3, which blew the anaheim show out of the water.

Good times all around.

Anaheim 2 (flew from Minneapolis to Las Vegas to meet relatives then in 1 day drove from Las Vegas to San Diego to see my grandfather then drove to the show in Anaheim and then drove back to Las Vegas!!!!) AND SURVIVED......YEAHHHHHHH!!! 2nd level seats thanks to JEZEBEL!

Minneapolis 25 miles GA - first row outside of heart

Milwaukee 350 miles (drove there and back in the same night so we could be back to get the kids off to school!!!!) GA - 3 rows back outside of heart

When do we get to start again! My wife thought I was nuts at the beginning of this journey but she doesn't anymore - she saw all 3 shows also.

Tacoma: 3 hour drive from my house. (outside the heart)
Vancouver: 40 minute drive from my house. (inside the heart)
Portland: 6 hour drive from my house. (in the heart, and I got to meet Bono before the show)
LA3: 2.5 hour flight from Vancouver. (standing 3 rows on the outside of the heart)
I hope that everyone here had as much fun as I did over the last year.

Ahhh, the memories...

Here are all of my shows, in order:

Miami March 24
Toronto May 24
Toronto May 25
Montreal May 27
Montreal May 28
Buffalo May 31
Hamilton October 13

Without a doubt, the best show was Hamilton!!

In second would be a three way ties with Toronto #2/Montreal #2/Buffalo

However, I think Toronto #2 would win because it was the only show of those 3 that I wasn't in the heart and it kicked my ass a mile back. That says something, no???

London Earls Court 18th August 70 miles, 1 hr on the train

London Earls Court 19th August 2 min walk from hotel

London Earls court 22nd August 70 miles on the train again! or 140 miles round trip if you include the return travel!

Noticed there are no Brits that travelled to USA for the shows but a few yanks came over here to England to see U2? Just go to show which country has better paid employment either side of the pond! I am in a internet venture that was suppose to make me money so I could of seen them in the USA on the last leg, basically every show they were doing if I could but there has been some setbacks and the dream never happened! Maybe next year I will do my world tour following U2 if they do more dates! Got my balls crossed! (screams!) lol

*Larry signs paper, shakes MG's hand*

hello to all,

Well I went to four Evevation shows.
I live in Victoria, B.C. Canada.
I went to the April 12 in Tacoma. A 2 hour ferry boat ride from Vic. to Vancouver and then a 2.5 hour drive.
Then back to Vancover for the April 13th show.
Stayed in Vancouver on April 14th and then headed down to Portland for the April 15th show about a 4 hour drive.
That was all on the first leg.

For the Third leg I went To the Los Angeles show Nov 12th. I took the Boat over to Vancouver and then flew to LAX.
I was only able to go to the first show but It was great.

Good Friday, U2, Vancouver. It was a Holy experience.

Up to that point of the tour, it was one of the longest shows of that first leg.

The idiot who put the DVD on his Christmas wish list. What was I thinking!?! That is a WHOLE month away!

This has been my lucky U2 year! I saw them 2x and each time was unexpected and wonderful!

Boston 2 - June 6 GC
Prov 1 - Oct 30 behind stage

Boston 2 - Couldn't get tickets and then found out I was going 10 days before concert when my sister got GC seats by being a Bruin's season ticket holder!

Prov 1 -

Totally lucked out by being behind the stage in section 115. After seeing them so many years from so far away - it was too cool to actually see them up close, even if it was from behind. Then, Bono left the stage and climbed up to visit my daughter (who screamed "I Love You" when he asked her her name) and I still haven't gotten back to normal!!

After that, I tried to go to Dallas 11/25 and I got the tickets, but airfare jumped up when I went to book the flight and the whole idea ended up being too expensive. Luckily, a friend took care of the tickets for me.

Toronto 1 (2.5 hours)
Toronto 2 (15 minutes.. cause i was already in toronto)
Hamilton (1.8 or so hours)

Leg 1
Albany - Behind the stage edge side (I loved these seats)
Hartford - In the Heart (right in front of edge...awesome!)
Philly 2 - $45 side of stage (not bad)
NJ1 - In the Heart (right behind otto so I could view my concert experience through his lens again and again)

Leg 3
MSG 1 - Golden Cirlce (seats sucked behind the soundboard)
MSG 2 - Behind the stage edge side (I loved these seats)
MSG 3 - Nosebleeds (good vantage point but sound was a little weak)
NJ - In the Heart (halfway between Adam and Bono couple rows back)

Only saw them 8 times so you miss what my occupation is.

If you see a trend here it is that behind the stage seating rocks!!! I would take behind the stage over any other seats except Heart GAs.
