Still working on the album...

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Has it not been thuddingly obvious since 360 went into 2011 that a new album will be out in the fall of 2013 and an arena tour to follow in the spring of 2014? its silly to tour the US again without at least 3 years break from the last tour, especially since the last tour went as far as they possibly could to satisfy demand.

Sure, it would be nice to get an album with no tour, but this has always been a live band, and once they actually stop touring you'll wonder why you were whining about having the chance to see them so many times live in 2005-6 and 2009-11.

What a selfish band, taking the time to tour places like Japan, Australia, South America, and South Africa to give their massive global audience the chance to actually see them before they retire. U2 should really just give the North American and Western European audiences what they want, when they want it, fuck these global tours. Just play NYC, LA, London and Paris.

I like that Android version:

Reboot....to recovery
Wipe data..cache...dalvik cache
....Flash Rom
Ooohhhh Ooohhhh
Flash gapps
Restore apps

void main(void) {
UnknownCaller* unknown_caller = new UnknownCaller();
unknown_caller->restart();
unknown_caller->reboot_self();
unknown_caller->set_free_to_go();
if (unknown_caller->has_the_chance() == true) {
unknown_caller->shout_for_joy();
}
cout << "Password, you, enter here, right now:\n";
cin << unknown_caller->password;
punch_it_in(unknown_caller->name);
unknown_caller->hear();
unknown_caller->cease_to_speak("that I may speak");
unknown_caller->set_vocals("shush now");
unknown_caller->force_quit();
delete unknown_caller;
}

Do you ever wonder if, in all of these supposed songs that are finished and the work from all of these seessions with all of these differing producers just plain suck? I like Mercy, Stingray, EBW and kinda like North Star but I wonder maybe there isn't that much in the tank anymore?

I'm hoping that we start getting some hints maybe starting in March or so. That's not too far away, is it? A late 2013 release still seems reasonable.

DM seems to have been in Dublin for sooooo long, he probably has an Irish accent and an Irish wife by now.

No kidding. First report of him working with U2 was October 2010.

This just might be one bad ass fucking album if he's hanging around this long.
(yes, I know there is another valid interpretation of the length of recording)

Well...is he working exclusively with U2 or has it been on and off since 2010 ?

I guess he didn't go the way of Rick Rubin or Chris Thomas, and Eno and Lanois weren't enlisted so...something must be going right.

Their method of workings on albums these seems to be in blocks, maybe for 2-3 weeks at a time. Good because they get to spend more time with their families and live their lives, but bad because I would think that'd be a good way to lose focus and get distracted with stupid projects like Spiderman.

Just got an email from the U2.com community. Their forums are about to undergo a revamp. When was the last time this happened and is this a new opportunity to start a wave of hype and hysteria.....:drool:
