Listed thread: top 5 U2 songs to work out to

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Vertigo
Elevation
Beautiful Day (the lyrics and ideas in this song are just sooooo good!)
Lady with the Spinning Head (cause the neds will think it is mindless dance music and so will like it:p)
Even Better than the Real Thing dance version of the Best of 1990s B side disk

no particular order

also consider

yahweh (controversial i know but it could work:p)
I will Follow
Sunday Bloody Sunday (it is motivational, makes you want to change the world/lift weights :p)

First off, I rarely put studio versions on my workout cds. My 5 favorite at the moment are:

1. Bad (Live Boston)
2. The Fly (Live Boston)
3. I Will Follow (Any live without the meandering in the middle)
4. Last Night on Earth (Live in Santiago)
5. In Gods Country (Rattle and Hum movie verison)

Honorable Mentions:
With or Without You (Live Rattle and Hum)
Sunday Bloody Sunday (Live Rattle and Hum)
One ( Live Slane)
Mysterious Ways ( Dublin '93)
UTEOTW (Dublin '93)
Pride (Rattle and Hum)

Basically, I don't need the "hard" u2 songs like mofo or Elevation or whatever for working out. Actually, I prefer live songs like "Bad" or WOWY because I can "get into" these and just sort of lose myself as i'm jogging, biking or whatever.

Sorry guys, this is more than five, but I couldn't narrow it down...

For any kind of Workout, these will make you want to go out and kick some ass:
MoFo (especially a live version - Leeds Popmart is a good one)
Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix)
Vertigo
Discotheque (New Mix)
Bullet the Blue Sky (any live version)
Love or Peace or Else
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
Mysterious Ways
Lady with the Spinning Head
I Will Follow

And, some good ones for a long, steady state workout. Just put your head down and keep on going...
Desire (studio)
Seconds
One Tree Hill
NUMB (test this one out if you haven't, it does the job suprisingly well)

I'd say Sunday Bloody Sunday, but the "How Loooonnnngg" part can be a death sentence during anything cardio...

What about just watching a concert dvd and jumping about as if your there works for me:wink:

Pop Muzik (Pop Mart Mix)
Mofo
Salome (Zooromancer Mix)
Lady With The Spinning Head (Extended Dance Mix)
Even Better Than The Real Thing (Perfecto Mix)

Can you tell I'd be running to this one?

Even Better Than The Real Thing (The Perfecto Mix)
Love & Peace Or Else
Vertigo
I Will Follow
Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix)

Bonus Track
Salome (Zooromancer Mix)

It's not necessarily the tempo that makes U2 easy to work out to - it's the fact I love their songs so much that energizes me!
I've been working out non-stop to HTDAAB since its release! (although Gwen Stefani's new song gets me pumped in the beginning!)

Miracle Drug is a great running song. As soon as Edge kicks into that solo around the 2:45 mark, I just start sprinting and don't stop until the song is over. It just makes me sprint. I get totally into it.
