Just purchased the CD and started listening to all the songs fresh. I have avoided the radio and tv specials. My first is impression is dissapointment but I'm sure it will grow on me.
The Strong songs:
Vertigo
Love and peace or else
City of blinding lights
Man and a woman
Crumbs from your table
One step closer
The weak songs:
All because of you
Sometimes you cant make it on your own
Yahweh
Miracle Drug
Original of the species
Like a saw somewhere else, Vertigo stands alone sort of like Elevation did in ATYCLB. The sight of so many talented producers is interesting. Maybe one or two of them would of created a more powerful album. I dont know, this is my first impression which usually changes after many listens. I'll get back to you.
I just think that POP, although very unpopular among some quarters is still the last U2 album with frieking BALLS!!. That album grows finer each year like a caustic fine wine. Its too bad they havent played my favorite songs so far live.
