Peter Laviolette was fired (Islanders replaced him with Steve Sterling from their minor team affiliate).

The Ottawa Senators have signed C Brad Watson (went to school with him from Junior High/Middle School on...).

Fred Brathwaite signed with the Blue Jackets... good stuff Freddie.

Brad is my age... you have to sign your future prospects... plus I think old Alfie's days are numbered in Ottawa. They can only pay him and Hossa pennies for so long...

But their new billionaire owner is supposedly all about spending money...apparently he doesn't care about making money with the Sens...it's more or less a hobbey for him.

Eugene Melnick... yes.

I bet they move to Hamilton... then they'll also stink off the ice.

You Leafs fans can never give credit where it's due! See, I'll give you an example of this line of thought....Canucks fans give the Sens all the credit in the world. I can only attribute this to the fact that the Canucks have a really great team, and they see the same greatness in a team like the Sens. But Leaf fans never see this. Is it because they feel they don't have such greatness on the Leafs? I think that's it...yes, yes I do.

*prepares for spirited lashing

You Canuck fans always bash the Leafs any chance you get. The only reason you can *objectively* give credit to the Sens is because they are the anti-thesis of Maple Leafdom. First of all, they don't reside in Toronto, and they are the Maple Leafs biggest rival. Secondly, they play boring, emotionless hockey... and if you see the same "greatness" in the Canuck franchise... well, I'll let you figure that one out.

You think the Sens play boring hockey? Did you even see the 6th and 7th games vs. The Devils??? They're a fast skating, slick passing, high skilled team. Boring would be if they played like the Devils...or the Ducks for that matter...

I will give you this...the Canucks don't play as tight as the Sens...they are a much more aggressive on the forecheck and make more defensive mistakes. They hardly ever use the trap, and when they do, they give up leads....so yes, they are a little different...but they're both young teams with huge potential and a lot of talent. The Canucks are the closest thing in today's NHL to what hockey used be like in the early 90s. They pulled off some exciting hockey and still won in a land of swamp all season long...that takes something. The Oilers, for example, try to play the same way, but they don't get the same success. The Canucks should be commended for this.

As for the Leafs being bashed by Canucks fans, it's mostly because Leaf fans seem to think they're "Canada's Team". If it wasn't for the Toronto as the Center of the Universe mentality, the rest of Canada wouldn't care that much, honest!

It looks like they are tiring now...pretty evenly matched. No, wait, cujo throws a right, then a left! Griffith's biting cujo's knuckles. Ah, this is old time hockey for the fans!

I did, Zoney, I--ooooh! Cujo lands one right in Griffdawg's nose, it looks like we got a squirter. Griffdawg gets him back with a left, believe you me, he'll be feeling that one tomarrow. I can't believe they're still going. How long before they just start slapping at each other from a distance like girls and crying?
