this is why being a mets fan is torture... i promised myself i wouldn't get pysched over this season after they screwed up the vlad deal...

... but now with the reports out of spring training that piazza is smackin' the triple crown threat he was before the mets tanked into the basement of the NL east...

... and with two contact hitting speed guys at the top of the order for the first time since lenny dykstra and mookie wilson...

...and with the braves taking a major step back...

... damn it... i'm not gonna get excited... my hopes will only be crushed when they're 20 games out in june... stay calm... stay calm... bah

The Mets look like a possible 70 win team this year if Piazza stays healthy.

Anyway, this will be easy:
AL:
East: Yank Mes
Central: Twinkies
West: Halos
WC: Red Flops

NL:
East: Phils
Cent: Astros
West: Giants
WC: Cubs

Sox over Twins
Yanks over Angels

Sox over Yanks

Phils over Cubs
Giants over Astros

Phils over Giants

Sox over Phils in 6

AL MVP: Brian Daubach for busting A-Rod's face. (OK just kidding, Torii Hunter)
NL MVP: Thome

AL Cy: Schilling
NL Cy: Billy Wagner

come now... they won 66 games last year without piazza, without floyd for 2 months, without matsui, with reyes there for only a month and a half, and without cameron... they're good for an season right around .500. i'm a realist, and i don't really expect anything more than a .500 season... but to say they're a 90 loss team IF piazza is healthy isn't realistic.
