haha, I agree! I mean, really, as much as I love Coldplay, who takes Chris Martin seriously when he says those things? (although he IS the King of Superlatives).

Never did get a Killers ticket(s) this morning - too bad

I really have to catch up this weekend about the new album - haven't even heard the first single yet, but since I thought they were kinda fun when I saw them at a festival (in front only about 500 on the field, and 2,000 in the stands) I sprang for a seat to one of their NYC shows this October...

well...so far.. was front row/on the rail inside the ellipse for the Vegas 2 show so got to see Brandon Flowers up close do "in a little while" that was great!

next, I will most definitely check them out at the Virgin Festival in Sept.

Wish I could go to one of their own shows but none near me are on a weekend..

This is craptastic! I've been trying for 56 minutes and I haven't got one hit yet. It's probably sold out already. The Wiltern Theatre in L.A., so small.

Ugh!

I give up!

Oh, well. I got to see Radiohead. I guess I should be happy for that. You can't win 'em all.

From what I heard on the radio, this is only a small club-tour to kick off the release of their album. For all of you who tried and failed to get tickets, there will probably be a bigger tour later, I would imagine.

OK, finally took a few listens to When You Were Young - I like it. It is reminiscent of Born to Run in parts, also hear a bit of our boys in there in one part (getting a Miracle Drug vibe).

Not real fond of the video though.

there's definitely a similar HTDAAB guitar riff...and I kept trying to remember what song since it's been some time since I last listened to the album, but it must be Miracle Drug. I didnt want to say anything earlier and sound like one of those people who claim everything is U2 sounding or influenced
, but it really does sound like it in that one part.

the bass line does have a slight resemblence to the edge's guitar riff on the bridge of miracle drug... not a complete rip off though.

i do quite enjoy that a song that does have a slight miracle drug feel to it gets praised by a lot of the same people who hate how to dismantle an atomic bomb, and who wish u2 would be more like the killers.

it makes me chuckle.

haha

i chuckled.

i am diggin' it, though.

Because 'run' kind of rhymes with 'young', and the song has a xylophone in it?

I actually think that When You Were Young is better than any song off Hot Fuss. It's not as catchy as Somebody Told Me, Mr. Brightside or All these things.... in terms of a single but it;'s a better song overall. I think this next album will really elevate these guys. I'm looking forward to this.

And eyah it's hilarious how the people who trash U2 are praising this. It's so hypocritical. Tonight when my brother saw the video for When You Were Young for the first time he even said it sounds like U2. I then played Miracle Drug for him and he said "yeah that's the one"
