I'm pretty sure most moviegoers in the past 50 years have heard it before, I think it's high time it was laid to rest, in anything other than silly action movies, that and any other canned sound bite you hear all the time (there's one particular wind sound and one of children running around playing that you also hear all the time) any time you hear those in a film you're trying to take seriously it really takes away from it.

My brother does sound effects editing and I'm gonna have to ask him about this scream, see if he's used it

My favorite clip was Them, one of my all time faves, especially as a kid. The sound used for the ants will be with me forever
