Going to Vegas in July

We are first time Vegas visitors this July. Hubby wants good gambling time....I want luxury and great pool side views. Any suggestions from anyone who's been there & done that? Thanks in advance.

Catch the Travel channel....many shows with "Best of Las Vegas...."

best pool, best casino, best rooms, best deals...

Hard Rock has the best pool...

Also check our Green Valley Ranch...they actually have a continual reality show...place looks great yet afforable...enjoy.

green valley ranch is beautiful, but it's kinda far from the strip.

i personally love the hard rock, but that's off the strip, too. i don't know why, i just assume all first timers want to stay on the strip.

mandalay bay's pool is pretty amazing, too. it's a man-made beach. for luxury, i'd suggest bellagio or the venetian. what would be great is if you could get a room at the brand-brand new wynn las vegas. it opens in late april, and i can't wait to see it.

las vegas is so much fun. have a great time!

So sorry...thought I was on the off topic discussion. I freaking hate it when I do idiotic things like that.

Nonetheless, thanks for the replys...yeah, being first time, the strip sounds cool. I am not a young, hard body (hubby isn't either, hee hee), but on the Hard Rock sight, they portray themselves as all being yound & beautiful...surely there are normal mid thirties there too....sheesh.

Yes, I saw the pool at Mandalay Bay earlier tonight....very impressive. I am so excited to go west. We will be in LA for a week then off to Vegas for a couple.

Thanks again.

I love the Hard Rock. It's the best! I have a great time going there with my husband. The crowd is cool.I love to look around at the rock n roll stuff. They play fun music by the pool.

Mandalay Bay is a fun place but a bit pricey. Venetion supposedly has the nicest rooms. I have been to Vegas many times and have stayed at about 5 places. I don't like Vegas that much but if I had to choose a place it would Hard Rock. Sometimes they have $80 specials.

I love Vegas! You are going to have so much fun! I have stayed at several places, but by far the Bellagio has been the nicest (we got a nice $150 a night deal and when my husband and I told them it was our First Anniversary they upgraded us to a 1500 sq. foot room suite- it was wonderful, but I didn't go to the pool there) search around on the internet and you should be able to find some really nice rooms for pretty cheap. I agree that the Hard Rock is very nice with an awesome pool. I have also stayed at the Aladdin, Excalibur, New York New York, the Sahara, the Stratosphere, The MGM Grand and The Tropicana... I would go with the Bellagio or The Hard Rock if I were to chose out of all of those. As far gambling goes, the only place we have ever won a decent amount is the MGM, but of course it's all luck Have fun!

Well, you know you have to go to Fremont street at night for the U2 reasons, plus it's a great drunkin' experience old Vegas style!

If you can get the Los Angeles Times online, today's travel section named 7 Deadly Sins (boo-boos-) that Las Vegas tourists make...

Fremont Street was named a must see...there are several tourist options that just might work for you!

If you're driving from Vegas to LA, go on a weekday mid-morning.

In July, it is Hot so you want a good pool.(I lived there for three months in the summer and I was out in the desert the whole time for my internship)

Depends on whether you want to be on the strip or not (Disney land vs. adult.)

If your Husband wants the better odds, then he should gamble downtown on Fremont. The Golden Nugget is the best downtown hotel.

If you want an interesting look at Vegas, I would visit www.cheapovegas.com
It's an interesting website.

How about in the opposite direction?

haha. oh man, i have to disagree with that first tip. i went up to the top of the stratosphere last year for the first time. it was incredible. and the price he quotes is only available with a local ID. otherwise, it's twelve dollars, not nine. plus, that club he recommends instead barely opened like, last month, so it's not like it's been an option for long, lol.

i say go to the top of the stratosphere during the day, and either mix or ghostbar at night.

i love ghostbar. i've had good times there, good times.
