Coldplay - The Hardest Part (new single)

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I like Coldplay... BUT - This is like a joke nobody ever gets!

Don't know what happened to Twisted Logic. To me it was the best song on the album. They even named the tour after it, but didn't play it. Like somebody said, The Hardest Part will most likely be the last single from the record.

What happened to the deep, frantic, artsy Coldplay from A Rush of Blood to the Head??

I actually thought I dreamed this video. I fell asleep the other night with the TV on when this was about to premiere, and all through today i've been thinking 'did Coldplay really record a video with Chris Martin dressed in a white suit, or did I imagine it'?
I figured it was a dream, since it seemed like such an odd scenario :/

Thanks for posting the link anyway. I was about to go on Launch and check out the video.

Uh, yes. Far superior song.

Seriously, I thought Coldplay wanted to change direction and then they go and release another single that's typically them. Don't get me wrong I love Coldplay but there are some far better tracks they could be putting out as singles instead of (seemingly) playing it safe and putting out piano based poppy tracks that you can tell are them in an insant.

the hardest part?

as usual its utter crap of these wankers

Ok... I've seen it...

Nº1: what the hell Gwyneth does with a guy with THAT hair???...
Even Bono¡s mullet was nice... yeah, I like it, and so do you, only you can't accept it :madspit:

Nº2: if she's really 84 :applaud:

Nº3: if the song is really about Porn... maybe I can get some of it... like when the host is  and Chris appear singing really in deep-throat style

Nº4: Nice boob grab by the guy there (if there's any boob at all :eyebrow: )

Nº5: How can anybody think of this... who develops this idea... who aproves it, how can the record company allow this... how does the band get away with this, and in top of all, HAPPY...¿?¿?¿?

Nº6: How can they make a good video like Speed of sound, a great video like FIX YOU, a weird yet fun to look video like TALK (I need some 3D glasses so maybe I can get it) and this HORRIBLE video... yet islike a car crash... you cant help but look... and look, there's some dead people... 4 guys and a music career :|

"I wish that I could work it out"... wise words Chris... wise words

and again...

If it helps, Chris Martin confessed that The Hardest Part in particular and X&Y in general are not un-related to his relationship with Porn.
X&Y and The Hardest Part could be an ode to proper waste disposal for all I know. There's a fine line between universal lyrics and unfocused, meandering dribble. Martin's lyrics stray towards the latter.

I couldn't sit throught the video, but to be honest there's not many music videos out there I like.
The Scientist & Trouble were watchable. But I agree ...bad choice for a single..it's all about A Message and Til Kingdom Come

off topic...but personally I thought All Because of You and Original of the Species were crappy singles

for some reason that album reminds me alot of something Radiohead would do. Well about 4-5 of the songs.

whereas X&Y is distinctly UF-era U2, no doubt about it.

hell, the best song on the album (Talk, IMO) has a memorable riff that isn't even theirs. That's a great sign for them, not.

Hahahahahahahahahaha WHAT.

Low, Talk, White Shadows all remind me of that

ok, I shouldn't have said the entire album. But a good chunk of songs do emulate UF.

A lot of the album is very UF. No question.

Anyway, I don't have much to add. That video clearly sucks. I liked the Talk video, it was chessy but fun in a Smashing Pumpkins' Tonight Tonight kind of way.

I like Hardest Part, it is very REMish. But, I also think White Shadows (pure UF) or Swallowed in the Sea would have been better.

Thanks for that....the bicycle shot

I feel dirty :|

Don't bring anyone's bicycle into this! They ain't here. If it wasn't for your bicycle, you wouldn't be here.

I thought the video for Hardest Part was hilarious. Chris is really looking bad these days.

I'm just so confused about Coldplay anymore. They were tops for me with Parachutes and AROBTTH, but now.. it's like a grinding halt. I'm left to scratch my head  because other than Fix You (which I didn't even totally love), they've totally lost me with this album. They've lost my attention for the time being, rather, not forever.

So if that clip was from Attitudes in the 80s and she was 86 then and the lady was on Kimmel in January, then that means she's over 100 now...

I thought the video was cheesetastic myself... I don't get it, people say Coldplay are overly serious and unnecessary melancholy yet when they lighten up they get slammed.

Anyone who believes them to be overly serious has never heard an interview or seen The Nappies.
