Nice picks guys. Glad to see Magnificent is in all your favs  That has to be my favorite on the album. Gets me all sappy and emotional. Since I'm not a big fan of the super slower songs, I am also enjoying Breathe, UC and I really like Stand Up.. its funky and makes me want to rap dance or something lol. I also still reallly like Boots. Its a shame everyone pisses on it.

Magnificent is really good, but I like Fez better. The opening of Breathe is alright, but I'm not too keen on that one.

As for Boots, well ... yeah. I rate that one really, really low.

I'm one of the few people left on this planet that still prefers physical CDs.

Currently in my 3 disc changer: The Unforgettable Fire, Zooropa, and To Venus and Back by Tori Amos.

Hey wait a second.
I go and buy every CD I can get my hands on of my favourite artists. :D

Ah, but do you wait until you have the CD before listening to the album? :p

That's why it took me almost two years after becoming a U2 fan to collect and listen to all of their albums. And why I still only have Tori's first five.

Stand Up Comedy is such a fucking ridiculous song, I mean "come on all ye people"?! But it's still somehow enjoyable. And then the final third? I've no idea what Bono's on about with that "soul rockin' people", and it looks daft written down, but it sounds great.

Do you already have them?
(Might be asking a dumb question, but hey, I'm not sure.)

Nope.

Nope.

I still don't like Stand Up Comedy much. But it's better than Boots.

OK, this is starting to bug me. The very start of Crazy Tonight reminds me of something. I think on HTDAAB? I know one bit of Unknown Caller features a short guitar part like that Edge has loved using in Walk On/ES/Crumbs ...

Yeah, I'd like to hear them. Just never gotten around to it.

THANKYOU!!!

You have just reassured me that I wasn't hearing things!!

I also like to savour albums. Listening to a new one over and over again for weeks before even thinking about cranking up the next one.

See, I try not to wear albums out. I can think of a number of albums I don't really care to hear any more just because I played them to death at some point in the past. It's why I've been making myself listen to non-U2 music today, to avoid burning out on NLOTH or the band in general.

I can only think of a few albums I've played 50+ times that I still love in their entirety just as much as I did the first time I played them. I guess familiarity breeds contempt in one way or another.

I respect that :)

I remember the days when my sister and I only owned like five CDs between us, and one pitiful boombox

It wasn't until recently that I even had access to things online simply because I had dial up.
I always just dealt with buying the albums and doing it the old fashioned way. And in many ways, I prefer that. I like having the product to hold in my hands, look at the artwork and enjoy the music that way.

I had a fucking ridiculous CD collection when I was a kid, and it was always a pain in the arse to get to listen to any of mine because my brother and sister had a bunch too.

:reject:

I remember the first CD I ever bought.....The Bodyguard Soundtrack :reject: Oh the shame :uhoh:

Can't remember my first cassette...:hmm: Think it was a Tim Finn one.....

:uhoh: I remember being given a John Farnham album at one stage too....still have it in the back of the cupboard....oh Gluey has a rockin' vinyl collection :giggle:

Before I head to bed you guys might find this interesting.. longest chat thread we ever had!

First and longest chat thread on interference - U2 Feedback

Oooh, neat! I was wondering about that, since I once did a search to see how the Superthread compared to past chat threads and couldn't find that, so I'd assumed you'd taken it down from public view due to server load (seems I was right!).

What worries me is the Superthread has managed almost 310,000 posts in under a year. :crack:

I've compared the progress of the Superthread to the Temple Bar and other chat threads ... and I've just been stunned to see how quickly this thing has moved. Only five subfora have more posts than the Superthread! We're going to pass FYM within the next month or two too. The other four are LS (which obviously can't be passed), PLEBA, EYKIW, and the Vertigo Tour Archive.

I'm going to do a massive statsbomb for our year anniversary thread in two days.

Hey Ax, been meaning to ask...how's your Mum been keeping?? She still doing well?

Yeah, she's doing OK but needs to have an operation in the next few months ... she won't know details until she sees her specialist though; I think that's happening next week. Once that operation's done, I think she'll be good long term.

 I was just trying to clean up, and I put all my coloured pencils back in their box, and then when I closed the lid with a satisfied smile... the bottom popped open and they all spilled out at my feet, and I went "OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE." out loud. It's 2:30 AM here :uhoh:

I've taped the bottom now though.
