You know how it is...

Long hot summer day. You're in your car, driving down the road, the top down (or, if you're like me and you don't have a convertible, the windows down). And all you wanna do is blast some damn good music.

(I'm trying to make a CD)....what songs do you play?

(I know someone posted a similar thread in ETYKIW, but I'm extending this outside the U2-only range)..

Thanks!

It depends on the kind of music that u like:

R&R:
Carlos Santana-Anything by him
Led Zeplin- Anything by them
Jimi Hendrix- Foxy Lady
Lynard Skynard- Sweet Home Alabama

Rap/Hip-Hop:
DMX-We right here
Snoop Dogg- Gin & Juice
Nelly- Hot in Here
RunDMC- Walk this Way

Other:
I cant think of ne more

*runs and hides because of what some might think of the choices*

  I want a day like that damn ireland and rainy weather all year round

Well i shall be hopefully passing my driving test this summer and ill be making some quality tapes for the car when im cruising along with the windows shut and the heat blasting round my car :D

mmmmmmm i like The Jam- Town Called Malice

And some Simon And Garfunkel tunes

Pete Yorn -For Nancy (thats thanks to certain PLEBA girls around here ;))

I think you need big guitars for this kind of driving- man o man I love driving in Summer- just love cruising down the highway, with the window down (I only use my air-con on the really hot days) and listening to some groovy tunes,

you just got to listen to In God's Country- perfect cruising song,

and I find that anything kinda heavy is good to listen to - like a bit of Jane's Addiction, Tool or on another levle a bit of nice techno- something trancey of course like a Ministry of Sound 'Clubbers Guide To Trance'!

Bring on Summer- I cant wait!!!!!

'summmm......ahhhhhhh!'

You know, I hate when 99% of the world's drivers blast they're music. But I do it whenever possible.

I consider it educatating the public.

I sing allot in the car to almost every type of song. I try to do it on the highway most times so I don't look like some of those people at stop lights that I see who look like they are talking to themselves. My most recent sing along song is:

Complicated by Avril Lavigne.

I think some one else has talked about her in here. I went and bought the album the other day and it is pretty cool.

Heavier Songs:
Metallica - Fuel
Metallica - Die Die Die my Darling
Kid Rock - Cocky (yeah Im sure that wont be a popular choice with all the rabid kid rock haters around here lol)
KISS - I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night (and party every day!)
Disturbed - Down with the Sickness
AC DC - Highway to Hell
Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It! (or any cover of this song)
System Of A Down - (Im not sure what to suggest... I want to say Toxicity, and Sugar, I fear that Spiders and Needles could be too laid back... although Needles would be a good choice too, Sugar may not be the best choice)

Laid Back songs:
Tom Cochrane - Life is a Highway
Tom Petty - You Dont Know How it Feels
Tom Petty - Runnin Down A dream
Garbage - Androgyny (this is a great song, no matter what youre doing)

Ill continue this later, I gotta go out... lol

awesome car driving songs that will just make your blood pump and your mouth scream:

Eternal Life - Jeff Buckley
Nightmares by The Sea - Jeff Buckley
Fallen Souls - Ours(oh, the screams in this song!)
Ladylike - Big Wreck

Born Slippy - Underworld
Good Souls - Starsailor
Sullivan Street - Counting Crows
Angelene - PJ Harvey
Someday - The Strokes

lately i'm stuck on dave matthews & tim reynolds live from luther college version of 'ants marching' and 'deed is done'

i haven't listened to u2 in like 2 months (maybe that belongs in zoo confessionals...)
