I adore Blake, but I thought he sucked on the last two songs. I agree, I wish he would have done a more uptempo Maroon 5 song, that just seemed like a disaster to me. Maybe he made enough young ladies swoon despite that though.

I thought Jordin sucked on her first song. I didn't care for the second song, and of course she was perfect for the hokey number the finalists do...and, not that this has anything to do with her, but, wow, what a lame title, even by hokey song standards. She just does not excite me the way Blake does.

Alternate titles that I've read on other boards:

This Is My Cow

This Is My 'Ow!

I hope it wasn't a death ray stare at Jordin, but rather a commentary on the shittiness of the song. Ha!

I didn't think that song was a good fit, either.

And according to that picture above, I don't think Lakisha liked the song either ... is she asleep?

It looks/sounds like it was written by a couple of grad students on their lunch break. It's not as bad as "My Destiny" was for McPhee last year, but definitely up there.

Last night's finale just proves once and for all that this is the worst Idol season ever. Blake has talent and is original, but still his singing voice is not that great. And Jordin is really nothing special. She's nowhere near the singer that Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood is. Or even Fantasia, as much as I don't really like her style.

I'm kinda shocked that this is the best AI could do out of 100,000 people. Although i do know that the best singers don't always get through so, whatever.

Worst. Season. Ever. Jordin will win.

Oh I forgot!

Did anybody see Ashley in the audience, or was I seeing things?

I swear that girl! Maybe I should start crying like crazy in order to get special treatment......Puleeeeeze!

We could say it is up to fate

but the truth is -

It is in the hands of the ultimate judges.

Wow, that sounds like an amazing pile of pop culture. I'll have to actually watch the whole thing!

As long as they promise not to show Constantine again. He is so gross and irritating.

Possible spoiler, not that it matters at this point

From the idolforums board:

Jordin wins!
Supposedly at their weekly breakfast, today at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel,...
The candidates found out at 8:07 AM PST that Jordin won. There was some guy named Simon Fuller who allegedly is a key guy on the Idols staff told Stephanie by mistake actually. Word spread quickly. Also found out that many were expecting the Fantasia dominance (voting-wise), but that didn't quite happen. There was no press allowed this time, so as far as they know, none of this stuff is public knowledge.

Apparently there was a conversation ...
It was a fight about a flight conflict next week. He said something to the effect of "obviously she'll be tied up then." It wasn't a pretty scene. The best part is, the Idols didn't care. Only the suits and their assistants did. It was really weird.

*****end*****

not that this is a surprise or anything...
