So last week Esther suggested that we do a thread of Edge's numbered shirts. I've expanded it some to include any and all of the t-shirts that Edge is now so famous for. Bonus points if anyone can find photographic evidence of Edge wearing a t-shirt prior to 2000. And no, plain white t-shirts don't count.

Wow, already a couple of pre-ATYCLB pics of Edge in t-shirts, seemed to me like he mainly wore button-up shirts back in the day but I guess I was wrong.
Anyway, teeny, tiny Baby Edge!!! He looks so small. Nice leather pants, though.

I actually do own it...the same one with the pictures of the band on the back. I found it on eBay. But, it was pretty old and wore out when I bought it, and now it has holes all over it. It's unwearable.

I need to take a break from the posting to say, whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Did I know this? You met Edge?!?!? Dish, details, pics, anything? Please?

Sorry to spring it up like that.

I met Edge twice. First time on May 12, 2001 outside his hotel in Chicago. There was a lot of people there so I didn't really have much of an interaction with him. He did sign my box of Popmart condoms though, with a huge grin on his face.

The second time was outide the United Center on May 15, 2001. When he was wearing the 21 shirt. He came up to our little group signed a few things, a friend asked him what the numbers on his shirts meant and he said something like "I don't know, I'm always intreged to find out what they mean to other people." My friend asked him if he could hug me but he said "I'm sorry I can't" but, I did get a great handshake.

I have pictures, but my scanner doesn't work. And actually, the friend who asked him about his shirts got the whole meeting on video.

Yeah, there's a whole section of the introduction speeches. It's all only clips though. They show a short clip of Edge when U2 inducted The Who. They haven't updated it much, so there's nothing from the Clash's induction yet.

In the interest of somehow getting this thread to three pages I will post Oscar pics because he was wearing a t-shirt...

Okay, now we can put that unfortunateness behind us. Everyone is allowed a few fashion miss-steps in their life, but if Edge ever feels a little weak, thinks that maybe it might be okay to wear jeans and tennis shoes to a formal event like the Oscars, thinks of using a mid-'70s slacker prom attendee as a fashion inspiration, please don't, please ask for help.
