so do you think I could just go to the store and pick out a fathers day card?! NO they were all too nice and said stuff that I don't feel...like "you have always been there for me" and stuff like that......I found one that said "Because you mean so much to me" I thought of buying that...scratching off the "so much to me" part and adding an R onto You..."because your mean":madspit:

ugh..here I go....

:( wanna join the rant?

Just let me start out with......

When I was in 8th and 9th grade, I started to really 'hang out' with other kids. Mom was so jealous, she would find out from their parents things that they got in trouble for and then would ground me for those things because I "knew those kids and would eventually do those things" myself. My dad wouldn't get in the middle of it and not pick sides, just let me suffer.

And that was just the beginning of the shit I had to put up with.

Needless to say, when it comes time for mommy dearest to get old and sick, her ass is going in the cheapest, dirtiest, most remote county nursing home I can find. :madspit:

My parents have been separated since I was a year old, so I have no recollection of it. He was out of my life for 2 years and lost visitation because of his issues. My mother wanted me to have a relationship with him when he did come back into my life so she put aside her personal feelings for him and didn't tell me much. I knew he had issues, but until I was older I didn't know how bad it was. When I asked my mother, she told me some horror stories of the cheating and the drinking and the breakdowns(he's bipolar) :sigh:. He's made me lie to my mother about him with his girlfriend 2 years ago, and for some reason I went along with it. His girlfriend and the fact that he didn't want my mother to know was the excuse he gave me for not inviting me on trips to NH, Six Flags, etc. with his girlfriend and my older brother when he was living with him. He fucked up my brother more than me, because my brother has more memories of the bullshit that went on than I do since he was 5 when they split. And that's not even the whole story of all the shit he's put me through.

DG:hug:   you know our stories are very very very similar:hug:

My father is also bipolar/manic depressive.....my mom and him were on and off on and off ever since and before I was born. I have some real bad memories. When he would get drunk it was never pleasant..he was a mean drunk. I remember my mom having to lock my brother and I in a room with an axe:sad: He was downstairs threating to kill himself ...you know how great that make a 10 year old feel. And that wasn't the only time.

Whenever he would get kicked out we would have to take the hunting rifles and his guns and hide them. One christmas he showed up at my moms with girlfriend....she was carring a loaded handgun...my mom beat the shit of his truck with a baseball bat...thats all I remember from that..I was pretty young.

There has been so much other crap, I dont' even know where to begin. My brother is the same as me...except he always wanted dads acceptance and could never really get it. He is just now understanding this is how it is and I don't think he wants much to do with dad.

Lets keep going.....this feels pretty good.

oh I have more...believe me....

That's my conversations with my dad. :(

I was talking with him Monday and he was talking about how a state school is good enough and that it's alot cheaper than private college. I've looked into UMass. It's not for me. And who the fuck is he to say anything about my costs for college? He hasn't contributed a dime to my high school education, aside from buying books at a used book sale. And he's probably not going to give my mother any money for college. So he has no say in the cost of school for me in my opinion. :|

Feel free to vent.

I guess I am lucky that my p's have stayed married all this time.
My mom has just been on too much medication since I was about 5, and always sick. I guess thats why even though I do have FMS, I don't like to complain or let people know that I hurt, becuase I don't want to be like her. It seems like she has just sat around and not worked when she could have been doing something, always says that she is disabled becuase she can't walk far or stand ( because she is too fat, won't lose the wait, and has had to have both knees replaced)
Good Lord, the lady who sits at the door at Wal-mart is on oxygen and still works, why can't my mom sit there and do that.
Meanwhile my dad worked 60-70 hrs a wk at a factory, and never complained..........

until now......he went off about her laziness the last time I was home. So proud of him.....after all these years..

My father was addicted to painkillers & stayed pretty much zonked out all the time. He then moved on to cocaine & alcohol. To support his habit he moved out with his supplier--this woman who worked at a restaurant where he ate lunch. He worked at the post office as an accountant and made a very good living. But I guess you know where the $ went. He asked my mother for a divorce & she still wanted him to stay. She still tells people her husband died (She never mentions they were divorced-I could smack her up side the head when she says that.) When he was about to die from hepatitis from dirty needles and promiscuity, he called on my mother because no one else would be with him and she ran to his side to help. She told me on time when he was in the Air Force and they lived on base she found out he had a girlfriend. I was about a year old & living in El Paso, TX, she said she put me in my car seat and drove all the way from Texas to Tennessee that day. She should have left him then. Sorry I went on too long.

yeah...don't let him do that. no way!

My dad went missing for like 6 months...apparently he went to Florida and got married to his Hog of the Week (what I like to call his girlfriends) so anyway...during the divorce he was incharge of my school...my mom had the car the house everything! He just had to pay for my college..what did he do? Threw the loan papers in the trash..I got to school...I owed 6 grand or I had to leave the next day. I was like holy shit! Got an emergency loan with a high high interest..but what could I do.....! He calls me after 6 months and asks me how I stayed in school..I told him, he blew up at me.....I was like WTF! so I blew up at him...nice.

Sometimes you just love someone and thats it.

I have a friend (HD, hehe) who found out that her husbands business was a drug front, he was using the profits from the business on his drugs, and was fooling around with 3 other women out in public ( we used to see him out with girls at bars when HD was working). It took her about 7 yrs to finally divorce him, and she admits she just still loves him after all the crap she has put up with.

And he got mad at you??? WTF??

Since my father won't pay for shit, I don't ever have to worry about him doing that. In exchange for 2 used air conditioners he wanted my mother to give him 60 bucks.
