Okay, someone told me this was on a poison forum, I cannot believe the garbage some people come up with! This is an obvious fabrication, but I wanted you guys to check it out and give me your insight into this "almost" Edgie replacement on AB!!

I really don't think Edge would let someone else do lead guitar on a U2 song!! *maria rofl*

From: Tom Wentworth
Subject: C.C. Deville + U2?

For those of you who do not know, CC Deville is the ex-guitarist for a
group called Poison. Anyway, I read something very strange concerning
him and U2 in an article today. I'll paraphrase it for you all:

It was officially announced today that CC Deville of Poison fame was once
contacted by U2 to be their backup guitarist. It is rumored that Deville
turned down the job offer as he did not want to compromise his musical
integrity, he did, however, admit to being a great fan of U2's work.
Deville was asked to play on the Achtung Baby album, and the ZOO Tv tour.
The members of U2 understood and supported Deville's decision (albeit they
were disappointed). Here's what U2 had to say about Deville and his
previous band, Poison:

"Something to Believe In (A Poison song) inspired at least three tracks off
of Achtung. Its deep, meaningful lyrics made me work harder to sharpen
my vocal skills." - Paul "Bono" Hewson

"CC's work ranks right up there with Clapton, Hendrix, and Page. I first
heard of him after they (Poison) released their first album. My personal
favorite pieces of CC's work include Unskinny Bop, and Fallen Angel. CC
can make his guitar sing like no other player today. His work is an inspiration." - David "The Edge" Evans

"Most people don't know this, however, it was Poison who inspired us to dress
in drag for the Acthung Baby photos and the One video. It was something that
we wanted to do as a sort of "tribute" to their originality." - L. Mullen

U2 and Deville did, in fact, collaborate on one song. Deville played lead
guitar on U2's hit "Mysterious Ways." He did not want to receive credit,
since he did not want to ruin his image.

This story was broken when Poison frontman Brett Michaels went public in order
to get a token of revenge on his former band-mate.
"I wanted to make sure that his fans knew that he (Deville) hung around with
a bunch of no-talent wussies" - said Michaels at a Monday press conference.

Stay tuned for further developments

I don't think anyone would believe in this...

CC's work ranks right up there with Clapton, Hendrix, and Page

and I don't believe Edge would say something like this...
