Edge is lovely, but I cannot stand the golf outfit. ANY golf outfit. In fact, anything connected to golf.

I mean, seriously, what became of the "no golf playing in our band" rule?

I'm Austrian, we usually drink it with Aperol and call it Aperol Sprizz. Sometimes it's also mixed with Campari. It has this characteristic colour. The term "spritzer" is a characteristic Austrian name for wine that's mixed with water or mineral water which is a very popular drink in summer.
 
Ohh, didn't know that it was common in Austria too. The name sounds german, now that I think of it. :)
...Ok, now that I actually read the wikipedia page, it says that it originated in Venice while it was part of the Austrian Empire :D
Here in Venice it's a very common beverage. It is usually a mix of white wine with Aperol or Campari and soda water. And it's delicious :drool::drunk:

This photo was taken in 1999 right before the "Drop the Debt" petition was presented to the UN with more than one MILLION signatures on the international petition.

I'm fuzzy right now on all the details but at the press conference to announce the petition, both Bono & Edge publicly signed it - which is what they're doing here. :up:

no way are these from 1999.....these were taken during the Elevation tour in 2001.

Knew you would. :sexywink: Yeah there's definitely a hint of the Popmart Pornstache there.

'99 Bono is one of my least favourite Bono's, as he had those horrible thick rimmed shades. His hair was still short too, though a bit of a bad cut. This picture shows the longer hair, definitely at least 2001. Clear to see if you check the Beautiful Day video, that was from 2000, and he still has short hair there.
The shades help too. :wink:

I'm really trying to jog my memory here, and I vaguely recall them signing something in Ireland, perhaps even Dublin. But I cannot remember what it was.

Oh I just see the OP is talking about some civil ceremony including the women, I assume that means marriage or something? Not possible. Bono and Ali obviously got married in '82, and Morleigh and Edge in 2002(hey just noticed the 20 year gap lol). So that's not it. :hmm:

no pornstache....it's just a little grey. This is before he started dying it.

Also, it's definitely during the tour because I remember when these pics were posted new. I didn't start following them online until the Beautiful Day video came out.

I feel like this was taken in the US. There's a few other pics similar to this. I'll have to look on my memory cards and see if I can find anything.
