the full name of the school was Mount Temple Comprehensive, whatever that last is supposed to mean

No he didn't repeat, that was rather the reason why he couldn't get into college (for which passing Irish is, or at least was, a requirement). He was "ahead" a year only because he was older. Adam was the only member who never graduated from high school.

Sorry, but that's wrong (but also slightly right). He was accepted into university (not college), but his acceptance was rescinded two or three weeks after he started classes, because the university realised it had made a mistake, and that he needed to have passed his Gaelic exam (even though that was not a requirement of the program he had been accepted into. Sounds like he got screwed over!) Anyway, it was determined that he needed to improve his Gaelic proficiency. The university told him that they would hold a space for him in the next year's intake if he would by then be able to demonstrate a certain level of fluency in Gaelic. As a result, he returned to Mount Temple to work on this single course. So he was a student once again at high school for a full year, with only one course, despite having "graduated" the year before. (Neil McCormick's book explains this whole story very well.) Hence, he ended up in the same year as Edge and Ali. And hence, despite having finished school and gone off to Uni the year before, he ended up in the end-of-year class photo with Edge and Ali.
(Also, I'm not sure that Mullen ever completed high school. I seem to recall that he quit school to work as a courier full time?)

Thanks!! That's a funny story!! I'd kill those guys

Can you tell e a bit more about Adam plz biff??

And Larry, anyone knws abut him??? :)laugh: I think Edge was the only good student)

That pic of Edge and Ali appeared in Q in 1994; he escorted her to some charity function, I think. Bono was in London with Gavin for something, In The Name of the Father???? It all begins to blur.

I think Lardence must have dropped out or he was sick on picture day, because he should have been in Edge and Ali's class.

When I saw Edge wearing sandals with a velvet suit, I had to put a cold rag on my head.

Larry dropped out when he was 16.

i don't think he dropped out. I think he got his Intermediate Certificate or something. From what I understand , it is a leaving certificate for people who want to finish school but are not planning on going to university. Correct me if i'm wrong. PLEBANS?
