I was lying in bed last night thinking of - what else? - U2 shows, and I think I've unlocked the key to their addictive qualities!

It's a well-known behavioural psychological principle that with stimulus-reward situations, rewards that are intermittant and come at varying time intervals are more addicting than those that are predictable. For example, slot machine wins.

So, it's that damned Vertigo scanning thing that's making us all behave this way. It's not our fault, we're hard-wired to act this way!

There should be some way to make a claim that we're being psychologically manipulated, and have the government pay for our attendance. Or, a class action suit against Principal Management!
