The summertime freebies schedules have been announced, and these have caught my eye and are penciled in on the schedule (whether I actually make it depends on work and weather):

6/20 - Amos Lee OR 6/21 DumDum Girls, Brooklyn
8/9 - St. Vincent, Brooklyn

Also just bought this one:

9/24 - The Black Keys, Brooklyn

Had no clue I was going for that one but saw the pre-sale notice in my email after I got to the office and liked what I heard on SNL, so I patiently threw tix back until a first-row lower came up. :)

I ended up buying a ticket for Lily Allen. Didn't want to leave that one to the Press Pass Gods.

Well...we nearly half way thro the year and i have not been to any gigs this year. I have nothing on the horizon either. Im toying with going to see James in Glasgow in November, but thats about it. Because of where i live....i usually have to travel 400 miles to get to a decent gig (and back). Added to that.....im not a gig Junkie...im pretty fussy about who i travel to see....and it just so happens to be a lean year when it comes to bands putting on gigs that i want to see

I was watching Neko Case at Governors Ball last week (which was a great time btw, pending a good lineup I have this penciled in for next year, so glad a major festival is surviving here and getting stronger) and was wondering what was up with this band, and lo and behold a few days later they announced a new album and tour, and I picked up a ticket. Though something may come before it, history says this will probably be my last show of 2014.

Franz are SO F***ING GREAT, every time I've seen them! This new tour is great and (unless they have a really off night), you will have a fantastic time!
