The Killers - Battle Born

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Doesn't everyone here sense that by putting out a greatest hits already, it's a sign that The Killers have exhausted the well and are essentially done?

No, I sense that the Killers have released 5-6 albums and want to make more money. It's pretty common practice.

Love the song, but damn that video was just too happy. There was absolutely no conflict. It was like a children's TV show.

You mean working in a casino isn't conflict?

I do like this song, better than most on Battle Born.

Shot ...... Is a leftover Battle Born song that has been polished up for this un-needed compilation.

A good song none the less :)

It's sad to me that the Killers peaked early and have slowly been losing traction ever since. Each album has sold significantly less than the one before. They're probably my favorite band to come out of the '00s. While I can't get into now like I used to, Sam's Town was the right album at the right time for me in the fall of 2006. I've rarely connected with an album like I did with that one.

If this compilation turns more people on to the Killers, great! I definitely won't be buying it, but fans like me aren't the reason to release it.

Does anybody here know why they decided to call themselves The Killers? I'm genuinely curious. To be honest, I think it's a terrible name for a band... unless there is an explanation that makes sense.

The name came from the fictional band that performed New Order's Crystal in their music video from 2001.

And weirdly enough, The Killers actually performed this song with Bernard Sumner fairly recently!

Or at least their record company does anyway.

So I'm listening to this new hits album, and it seems to me that there is a dramatic decline in quality as soon as the Day & Age tracks pop up. It's almost like the moxy just drained out of the band. Those first seven tracks are all bangers, though.

but.....but.......D&A is the 2nd best album, behind ST. BB isn't worth jack shit. Hot Fuss is first-half-epic-only!

Ill check this single out asap

Sorry, meant to actually say something in that post, but my comp crashed. Not sure how it submitted.

Anyways, it's not my favorite of the singles, but the video's great, so that's always nice. I love that they do this every year. A little extra something special to look forward to. Plus, how can you go wrong with Harry Dean Stanton?

I very much enjoy Day n' Age, in some respects more so than the first two albums.

Aside from the final track, I don't sense any filler in the first 9 songs.

Meanwhile, the filler on Sam's Town (Uncle Jonny, My List, Why Do I Keep Counting?) and Hot Fuss (Andy, you're a star and the atrocious Indie Rock n Roll) seems all the more striking in how they disappoint and undermine the broader album.

Thankfully gir&r isn't on the album, at least not the American release. Yes ayas is horrible

I wouldn't call gtw filler, it just drags on for way to long before it gets where it's going, so to speak.

I love uncle Johnny and wdikc? My list is the weakest on st yea
