The Bends is a damned beautiful album!!!

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

no really, the bends is great fucking album, but OKC and Kid A are better imo. I could do without some tracks in the bends.
OKC and KID A are flawless:drool:

Yeah, strange. I feel the same way, just the other way around. While I find every single song on The Bends to be awesome, songs like Paranoid Android, Fitter Happier, Electioneering, Treefingers, and Optimistic leave me slightly less than enamored. ;)

blasphemy!!1

paranoid android!!
optimistic!1
two of radioheads best songs right there

sulk, and planet telex I can do without, they still are good songs though

If The Bends were used as medicine, it would cure AIDS.

and that's a scientific fact.

The Bends was the last R.head album I listened to.

You do it to yourself, you do. And that's what really hurts.

HG, what do you think of the new material?

If I'm being honest (and why shouldn't I be?), I haven't heard a peep of any new Radiohead. I guess I prefer to be completely surprised these days. I can confirm, however, that I finally heard "Nude" and think it's the cat's meow. :deathcat:

Glad you enjoyed the smiley reenactment of the video, Zootlesque.

That smilie rendition was indeed awesome, haven't seen that video since I was in Proho.

This thread has just taken a turn for the rad.

You know, I should have named Juno Panthor instead.

Good luck finding a saddle for Juno

Why I've turned a perfectly good Radiohead thread into a HeMan thread, I don't know. What am I coming to? I just don't know anymore. Blame it on the black star.

Yes! I just got done listening to The Bends straight through, and it's pure genius. Not a bad song on the entire album.

The Bends is one of the most overrated albums ever. The B-sides from that era are so much better than some of the average stuff on the album proper. It seems like there's too much filler.

Ok Computer and Kid A are 5 star masterpieces, but The Bends, for me perosnally, leaves a lot to be desired.

The Bends is the Chuck Norris of Radiohead albums.
OK Computer is Bruce Lee.
Kid A is Steven Seagal.
Amnesiac is Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Hail to the Thief is Chow Yun-Fat.
and Pablo Honey being Dustin Diamond on 'Celebrity Boxing'.

as you can see, there's a bit of a drop-off after the first 2 I mentioned.

sorry but no:|

kid A = steve Segal? more like God:drool:

Kid A has its moments:

Idioteque, Kid A, The National Anthem
('Hard to Kill', the 'Under Seige' movies, marrying Kelly LeBrock)

but overall it's random noises, flips, switches and whining and a critical darling, all IMO.

I think the bends has its shining moments:

planet telex
black star
sulk

its good moments:
street spirit
the bends
fake plastic trees
high and dry
just
my iron lung

then the bad songs
bones
bulletproof

also since there's some argument I will add that kid a is a masterpiece

its amazing moments:
idioteque
kid a
morning bell
everything is in its right place
how to disappear completely

its good moments
optimistic
motion picture soundtrack

decent
national anthem
in limbo

People who don't like The Bends from start to finish, I will fight you. That's no lie.

My homies got my back on this one, biotch. Representin' 2002, sucka. Prepare to get crippled and cracked, old skool.

maquiladora and talk show host would have made the bends even better. It could have been better than OK computer:wink:

Its that time again, time to resurrect one of the greatest threads about the Bends in the history of the internerd. Re-read this entire thread while listening to the entire album and tell me it does not enter into your favorite albums of all time, like fo reals.

So what are you waiting for, The Bends is a damned beautiful album, just accept it!
