Phantogram - Eyelid Movies

This record features a little of The xx's intensity, a little of Phoenix's mix of rock and playful beats, and a little of Four Tet's more sullen electronics, but the end result is surprisingly coherent and highly entertaining. These guys have a great sound, and I hope they manage to taste a bit of success; a band such as this is in fertile ground these days.

Their most popular track:

YouTube - Phantogram - Mouthful of Diamonds (Live on KEXP)

And my personal favorite:

YouTube - Phantogram Eyelid Movies As Far As I Can See

Sorta reminds me of Portishead from a couple clips on iTunes. Do you think I should purchase this, LeMeL?

Well, I can assure you that it holds the Portishead (good call) vibe throughout. If this pleases you, purchase it outside of Utah state lines, because pleasure is an abomination within its borders.

Hmm. I might have to watch a few more videos or something on Youtube, but I think I'll probably get this. I like what I've heard.

I was fortunate enough to find this used tonight, and, on first listen, I quite like it. Thanks for the suggestion, LemonMelon.

"Futuristic Casket" is an easy favorite, but this is an overall awesome album.
