Where the hell did you move to?

I have some closer record stores now, but they're so-so and all the employees know less about music than most anyone here, so it luckily decreases the amount of time I go there.

a little too close to springfield, ma. only music stores there are the reggaetone place and some sketchy-ass pawnshop kind of place (and i'm assuming from the ads in the windows they're of the same ilk) in a neighborhood i'd prefer to avoid (particularly while not at work). otherwise it's a drive 20 or so minutes to the mall, where you've only got hot topic and best buy. takes so friggin long to get back up to northampton, nevermind amherst, and even there the hippies there have dropped their support of local record stores so we're down to newbury comics and really only one used music store (two of the others moved to smaller locations where they've been pretty much reduced to just being shitty bargin bins). ordering music online is not the same.

YES

There are so many albums I can never find anywhere, but can't allow myself to order them online. There's something so satisfying about finally finding something you've been looking for in a store, I don't know what it is.

Picked this up on the way home from work:

Also got season 2 of Flight of the Conchords (music related I guess)

That's true. Although this past year I have bought some (secondhand) albums online that are quite difficult to find. But finding one in a record store is more rewarding. :)
