Indie disco, I guess. Australian band. I used to be really into Australian stuff, a few years ago (especially from the Melbourne area), but not so much, anymore. This was a pleasant surprise. "Unforgettable Season" was both one of my favorite tracks of the year and the song whose title was most likely, in 2008, to remind me of U2.

.

Tis good stufff........

What other Melbourne artists didya get into....?

I've barely heard any of it, unfortunately. I feel so behind the times when it comes to 2008 music.

Architecture in Helsinki, the early Midnight Juggernauts singles, and, yes, Dreadnought.

And didn't Shooting at Unarmed Men eventually wind up down there? From Wales, of course, but now based in Melbourne?

So many words, so many suggestions, so many records...and so little input! Anybody listened to anything from this list, yet? The Goldberg record's free, so that one shouldn't be too much trouble, right...?

I'm hella-curious to hear thoughts, so by all means post them shits. This wasn't only supposed to be for me to tell people what I like, but also for everybody to hear what everybody else thinks about all them shits that I love so much. Holler atcha boy.

I have No Age on my iPod to listen to, but right now it's buried amongst all these other albums I keep meaning to get to as well, so I haven't heard it yet.

Nice list! I still haven't heard all of the Mae Shi album, but what I have listened to is excellent. If anyone could through a link my way, that'd be pretty cool, and I promise to buy it later.

The funny thing is that I don't think I have ever liked a band that IYS has recommended, yet I still check out every band he recommends.

Thanks for the lists man.

Wow, I think that's quite a compliment, really! Thanks!

You people have to listen to the JoFo album, basically. Waited Up Til It Was Light, they call it. Sweet, fancy Moses, is it incredible. There is a surprising amount of love for Los Campesinos!, on this board, and it should easily carry over to those guys. Fans of The Hold Steady (of which there are a ruthlessly dedicated few) should also turn up their ears. Really, really, really solid shit. My write-up pretty well says it all, as far as I hear it.

And regarding The Mae Shi...Google is your friend. Honestly, I just searched for it, and the first/most popular link was to a torrent. There you go, Sad Punk. Happiness is now ripe for the taking.

I've liked a lot less than I've liked, that's for sure, but the ones I've liked ensure that I continue to check out his recommendations.

Man with long tongue sure to get into knot.

Also, it's Asian riddle. "Chinese" is offensive.

You're so retarded.

tried out Hold on now, youngster but even after the 6th listen I wanted to strangle the singer and offer all of them some herbal tea
also tried the Saadiq album
very enjoyable but I have to limit myself to about 5 songs a go

will try to look into more of this
