War Child
My sister got the job I thought would be mine. She walked into the bookshop (my dream job!) looking for something to take her mind off the fact that she'd just been layed off. She cried while she paid for it, and BAM- the job was hers. I'd made the mistake of thinking that since I'd been told I was next in line for a job there, I'd be the next person hired. I'm glad for her (obviously, she needs the work), and totally crushed at the same time. Since we share a house, I can't get away from it. She knows how I feel about it, but still, tonight she'll come full of chatter about her first day, and I'll be torn in two.
