I was born in Waynesboro, Virginia. Our parents moved to Indiana when I was three years old, but we got back at least once a year to our mom's family's (she lived in a rural valley near the junction of Skyline Drive and the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway at Rockfish Gap) reunion, or just because we want to. October trip this year, which will include the U2 show at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville. My former boss was a dean at Western Carolina University, in Sylva, for a few years; and MrPurrl and I visited there a few times.

Indiana is flat flat flat.

Jet - love those sunrises! (I'd love to photograph some myself, but can't manage to find any that occur later than 'stupid o'clock'! )

LU - gorgeous travel shots. I particularly like the San Marco view.

HGU2 - I like the unusal persepective/angles you shoot. Although I get a little dizzy looking at all of them, one right after another.

Sounds good--I'll be with my sister, her hubby, our brother, his wife, and my son! We'll be staying at a log cabin in the woods around a mountain road about 20 miles from Charlottesville--can't wait!

Beautiful photos, LU. I got a really cool optical illusion from this picture by using the scroll button on the mouse--it looked liked spokes on a wheel. Or maybe it's just the pain meds from my surgery today.

Cool stuff, Justin. I'd double check your autofocus when shooting people. The last guy's face is a bit out of focus.

I spent most of Sunday up and around Pt Reyes National Seashore. It was a bright sunny day so it was great weather to enjoy, but not the most interesting light for photography. Here are a few shots:

im trying to do a lot more manual focus. I think I need to have my eyes check cause I think its in focus most of the time, or the subject is moving. Actually its a woman. her house had burned down over night when I stayed in the indian community.

My dog last night on the couch, I was bored and playing with the flash. Not really scenic but which do you like?

This is kinda funny, but I was sitting on the toilet when I realized how it looks kinda cool, looking through the lenses of the glasses, so I came back and took some pics. Unfortunately the white balance was terrible, so black and white they became!
