Is that a new part with more picking than Edge used to do in that song? I remember just a straight strum. At first I thought it was a second guitar but it has the same tone.

I haz no idea. I think the new sound rig above head pointing down makes you hear details like that more since it doesn't drow out in a huge building like a stadium anymore.
Thus you might hear it better.

This was from Chicago 1 during Elevation. I was on the opposite side of the catwalk and saw Edge kneeling down but couldn't really see anything else. I found a video of it the other day I love this picture! It's now my wallpaper on my phone
