i think he did a very good job on BREATHE. but generally i think he is one of the main factors for overproducing. U2 should give him the boot.

Oddly enough, most of the hardcore Dave Matthews Band fanbase think Lillywhite is god, as he produced DMB's "Big 3" as they're called. They have a point - DMB's albums have sounded worse, in terms of production standpoint alone, since he was ousted, and the fanbase wants him back.
 
I'm not a fan of what Lillywhite's done with Shuttlecock in recent years either, but in my opinion he produced the best thing that Morrissey's ever done post-Smiths, Vauxhall & I.
