Smile, you're reading my post
Illuminate little girl sits
lives out her fancy daydream
forever..cascading in a rippled dress
ribbons and daisies dance under a careful calm
of a waited want to be needed and to belong.

Smiles fall into teardrops,
broken promises ricocheting across
the rise and fall of her painted moon.
Legs to hold her up no longer
unyielding, she takes the fall

paper
scissors
rock
cut my dress
shine my shoes
floss my teeth
read my books
make my money
play my game
still my friends
laugh at tea
climb the rock
liberate my soul
STOP

Smile, straighten your back, don't frown, be strong
Look at my Little Girl
She's my clever little girl with a painted face and pretty eyes
Hiding her thoughts shes a master of disguise.

motionless heart flooded with waves
like a weed strangled garden
its thorns break her fall
paper doll memory
giggles at the sun
reveried romance

Hung up like clothes upon a rack,
until she awakens the dream with a fresh breath of hope.

There's something very sad about this poem--but there's hope at the end too.

The second last stanza is great, especially "motionless heart flooded with waves/like a weed strangled garden"

Wow, Amanda. You've given this mannequin a life beyond its wildest dreams, and painted a heart out of a plastic world, punched out a breath into a vaccuum. You've put a walk into something still. And I can't help but follow along to it. Simply gorgeous. These words of mine are put to shame.

I'm not sure I want to know where that one came from, but I love it.

Amanda, that was one of the best poems I've ever read...

I can't say what I want to about it so I'm just going to shut up and leave it at that
