The Fly
Yes, when I was born, I was a bottle.
I know it’s hard to believe that at all,
But I was pretty normal: one inch tall,
Fine and cylindrical like a candle.
Then I grew old and at the age of eight,
I got filled up by a drunken blind date,
Mommy said: ‘water is all that you’ll get’,
I was pregnant with a rum ‘mignonette’.
I never saw his small faucet again,
He ran off with a can thin like a pen,
So I poured my unborn child down the sink.
Then one day, I woke up and was a man,
And in every single glass that I drain,
I just see her, my little baby drink.
