11.02.03 Hands Grab Oscar Nom!

The Hands that Built America has been nominated for an Oscar.

In the nominations for the 75th Anniversary Academy Awards, announced in Los Angeles this morning, 'Hands' was nominated in the Best Song Category. It faces stiff opposition from "I Move On" from Chicago, "Lose Yourself" from 8 Mile, "Burn It Blue" from Frida and "Father and Daughter" from The Wild Thornberrys.

'The Hands That Built America' was written at the invitation of director Martin Scorsese for his recent film Gangs of New York - and last month it triumphed at The Golden Globe awards winning best original song in a motion picture.

If ATYCLB didn't win best album at the Grammy's after having two songs (BD and Walk On) win record of the year as well as a third song win for pop performance, I won't count on anything at the oscars!! This SHOULD be a no brainer.

You may be right - but U2 did walk away with the Golden Globe! So we'll see. Personally, I think Eminem might have a shot here!
