This is the most interesting guitar work Edge has done since Pop. Yes BD was great because it was great to hear those 80's tones again, but that's a trick you can do only once. U2 tried to "Classic U2"-the-shit out of everybody three fucking times in a row and it got really tiresome...

Another thought I keep having about this being the start of the end. This album deals with topics Bono and U2 have dealt with before, but with a directness they have never used before. The are songs simply called "Iris" and "The Troubles," for goodness sake. This sounds like a band wrapping...

2 thoughts on "Invisible." 1. First time I have wondered if an Edge sound was a guitar since 1994. 2. the "Frozen days" part represents the best lyrics and vocal delivery from Bono for at least a decade. Given how old and rich the band are at this point, the above two facts are astonishing.
