Second half of SOI is the real U2

The next album is the real U2, guys. I've heard it and everything else has been prolouge. It's rock and roll from the 18th century on an alternate version of Mars 2.0 sent backwards in time through a rubber electron microscope while Edge dances on the edge of oblivion with a toothpaste guitar...

Hint at something new not on SOI?

I was joking. I think these will be bonus tracks. But, will they be remastered?

Will that be the actual last track? Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

Seconding COL being a criminally overlooked ending track. Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

    The Troubles - Song Discussion

You're not my troubles anymore is actually one of the most bracing, chilling lyrics I've heard from Bono. He's always been the Grand lover of all, which is part of why haters hate. Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

    The Troubles - Song Discussion

This may be a stupid question...

This. Until the end of time, this. The cover is one of the many reasons this record has restored my faith in this band Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

    Songs of Ascent revisited?

Songs Of Ascent is not happening. U2 see NLOTH as a failure. Why would they release something that was designed to be a supplemental piece to that? Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

Miami vs New York vs California (too soon?)

Nothing will ever beat Miami. We could make something beautiful Something that wouldn't be a problem. Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

This is the best U2 album since......

That demo that had "Trevor" on it. .... Seriously, though, I'll go with Pop. This album sounds almost like the 2000s didn't happen and the band just continued on their 90s trajectory. Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

Hint at something new not on SOI?

If I was The Edge and I ever actually was on this forum, I'd push hard for the band to title a new album anything that led to the Acronym JT. Just to fuck with Interference. Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

Is this the worst U2 album ever ?

This is the most interesting guitar work Edge has done since Pop. Yes BD was great because it was great to hear those 80's tones again, but that's a trick you can do only once. U2 tried to "Classic U2"-the-shit out of everybody three fucking times in a row and it got really tiresome...

    Farewell

Another thought I keep having about this being the start of the end. This album deals with topics Bono and U2 have dealt with before, but with a directness they have never used before. The are songs simply called "Iris" and "The Troubles," for goodness sake. This sounds like a band wrapping...

This is almost certainly the first part of a two-part final release

Believe it or not, I posted that before I read Bono's blog about and upcoming album called SOE. Wow.

This is almost certainly the first part of a two-part final release

"Songs of Innocence" - the album about being young men, specifically young Bono Then sometime later "Songs of Experience" - an album about being middle-aged, wiser men, specifically middle aged, wiser Bono. Then they call it a day Bet on it.

ALBUM 13 - DOUBLE LP or NOT ?

Why has Larry been standing up for all recent performances? At first I thought it was just to be cool, but what if he really does have some health issues? Weren't there back issues at one point?

ALBUM 13 - DOUBLE LP or NOT ?

This is the ultimate stealth album. Denial, then no album at all. Announce the album is whatever you can dream up. When they play songs from it in concert, you imagine it in your head while they flop around in silence. Sent from my XT1058 using U2 Interference mobile app

Invisible Discussion Thread III (Do not post song requests - discussion only!)

2 thoughts on "Invisible." 1. First time I have wondered if an Edge sound was a guitar since 1994. 2. the "Frozen days" part represents the best lyrics and vocal delivery from Bono for at least a decade. Given how old and rich the band are at this point, the above two facts are astonishing.
