Coldplay: Chris Martin And His Xylo Toes - Part 2

I take back any criticism I had. Great album.

Coldplay: Chris Martin And His Xylo Toes - Part 2

After not loving Up With the Birds at all, I now think it is superb. I think the song's biggest weakness is that they could have dragged out the second half a little longer just to give it a bit more resonance as an album closer. But I love the vocal melody and the gentle rhythm.

    Achtung Baby/ Zooropa remaster/ reissue - Part V/Five

I'm a bit confused.. so what has been released/leaked? Is the new 'polished' Achtung available?

Coldplay: Chris Martin And His Xylo Toes - Part 2

Really, I loathe it. I take no pride in feeling this way. :(

Coldplay: Chris Martin And His Xylo Toes - Part 2

This is possibly Coldplay's worst album for me, battling with X & Y. But it is much, much better than No Line on the Horizon in my opinion. What an abortion of a record that was.

    Achtung Baby/ Zooropa remaster/ reissue - Part IV/Four

I don't get the hate for The Killers' cover. But that would be because I am a fan. Perfect meld of their sound with a cover that is faithful to the original in many ways. Of course I guess if you don't like their sound, all you are going to do is compare it to a much loved and superior version...

New Coldplay - "Mylo Xyloto", Oct 24

You're kidding me right? Dismissing subjective opinion like that? I'm pretty comfortable with my range of taste and my knowledge of music.

I quoted the wrong post. Shoot me.

What is to cringe about AROBTTH? My favourite album of all time.

It has leaked, in case nobody realised. Edit: Two posts above.

    Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

Good album, almost very good, but not spectacular. Noel's most consistent collection of songs since 'What's the Story...'. However there is nothing exciting enough to make it a classic. Standouts are 'AKA... What a Life!' and 'If I Had a Gun'. No bad songs on the record. 7/10.

New Coldplay - "Mylo Xyloto", Oct 24

I'd like to champion some optimism for this maligned album that hasn't yet been released. Sadly the singles are the weakest tracks I've heard, but ETIAW is just happy, inoffensive fluff and the other stuff I've heard live is bread and butter Coldplay. I'm so positive about Charlie Brown, Hurts...

    The Horrors ~ Primary Colors

This has intrigued me.. why is Three Decades a cheeky title?

    The Horrors ~ Primary Colors

Amazing band, this album is everything I hoped it could be despite an incredible amount of personal expectation. Whilst it may not reach the heights of Primary Colour's best moments, it its consistently excellent. They really do have the potential for a splendid career ahead.

All Southern Hemisphere tour information/rumours here please

I wholeheartedly expect to be shot down for this vague and unsubtantiated info, but here goes. A friend of my father is apparently on some sort of planning comittee for Joondalup Arena in Perth. And they're currently trying to put through an application to have the venue's capacity upgraded...

    'Miami' vs. 'New York'

Both great songs I loved on their albums.

The one change I would have made to make this the most complete U2 album I've heard.

I'm delighted for anyone who enjoys the album as it is! Absolutely made up! I would love to feel that way. But I don't, so don't diminish my right to feel that way and talk about it. You disagree with my view on the album? Thats fine! But either offer an articulate response as to why you feel...

The one change I would have made to make this the most complete U2 album I've heard.

For the love of fuck did people not read that I am using Mercy as a substitute? I can't replace Stand Up Comedy with an imaginary song! So Mercy is a surrogate for what I would feel is a more cohesive and flowing album. Thanks to the people who have contributed to the thread & discussed the...

It ruins the mood of the album for me, it adds more interest and diversity to you. Horses for courses, each to his own. :-)

The one change I would have made to make this the most complete U2 album I've heard.

Well this makes me understand where people who like the song a bit more are coming from. Because I how you feel in the regard to the lyrics, the difference is I enjoed the music on Beautiful Day a great amount whilst really disliking the sound of Stand Up Comedy. But neither song is really more...

The one change I would have made to make this the most complete U2 album I've heard.

Ok you might think it's taken out of context. I just think that entire bridge is forced and sounds incredibly cheesy. Soul rockin' people? I don't even know what a soul rockin' person is. Or why or where they're moving on to. This part of the song is a spoil for the rest (not that I'm advocating...

Moment Of Surrender is overrated thread

Great song, that keeps improving for me on every listen. Not a singalong killer song, I don't even think it will work live. But it creates an atmosphere I've not heard in a U2 song since Passengers (I think its Your Blue Room's energetic cousin).

The one change I would have made to make this the most complete U2 album I've heard.

You echo my own sentiments. And in answer to Salome, I have to trust my own educated yet very subjective judgements. And I think Stand Up Comedy is unredeemable. A bad song that I don't like, as opposed to a bad song I do like or a good song that I don't. I wish to think that I can see the grey...
