You've Never Heard U2's 'The Joshua Tree'?

Heard someone say once "U2...they sound too much like Coldplay"

October 25 - Rose Bowl, Los Angeles

I am loving this picture I took from my seat... the camera wasn't focusing for me and this is what happened.

October 25 - Rose Bowl, Los Angeles

Rock and Roll Stops the Traffic ...literally. The numbers of people and the lines were terrible. So I was at the Pasadena show last night, which was great. I had seats way behind the stage, but I still enjoyed it. Anyway, the situation for the buses to get back to the parking lots were way too...

Adam has gone all tribute band on us!

I have also enjoyed Adam's bass playing in recent years, but what are some specific ones that are mixed up on the current tour (other than what's mentioned already)?

    Weird U2 songs to hear

A few months ago I heard Moment of Surrender in a sporting goods store. That was really out of place.

Of these 3 future projects, which are you most excited about ?

My vote also goes to Songs of Ascent... mainly because I want to hear an official release of that Kingdom song

That little guitar embellishment on Elevation versions of "Stuck in a Moment"...

I think Stuck is a beautiful song, I just dont think it has ever been treated properly live (I want the full band! I go to a U2 concert to see U2, not Bono and The Edge just playing a few chords) or in studio (it is way over produced with the synth trumpets) I do love the Edge's falsetto any...

    Interesting fact about Zooropa album

Wasn't Daddy's Gonna Pay snippeted with The Fly on the Vertigo tour a few times? I guess that doesn't count though.

Hey! MW is sounding pretty good!

eh... this song went downhill after the Elevation tour. I don't like the versions that cut straight into the song without the extended intro.

The What In The Fuck Did They Do To Crazy Tonight thread.

yea I think it was really awesome... anyone think maybe that Mysterious Ways acoustic version that was reported will have the same treatment? but yeah, Bono just needs to work on the melody and timing, but still sounds great.

First rehearsal sounds! (Stand Up Comedy?)

It also sounds like the bridge bass part on Mofo. Who knows? We'll find out soon enough.

Official "Bitch about the stupid mask" thread

Regardless what you think of the mask thing... Well, I dunno about you, but I like to oh I dunno WATCH a concert when I am there. Do the masks at least have holes for the eyes? Do they not want us to see the performance of Walk On?

    Gone - best live versions?

...and also Gone (the Elevation version, not the album one) is probably my personal all time favorite U2 song.
  15. mandrake

    Gone - best live versions?

Elevation version was better... Edge plays a better outro and plays more guitar chords in the verses, so makes for a stronger song.

    3rd single from NLOTH

Question: Why does it matter to YOU as a fan as to how U2 albums are selling? Shouldn't it really come down to YOU as a fan liking a song or not? I could care less what is being played on the radio, whatever favorite band it is. I love the song Magnificent, and if no one else does, I am ok with...

    BEING BORN LIVE by Poptarts

Probably better than U2 will do it (if they even play it, seems like a song they would skip on this tour). I just wish this band's videos weren't so dark.

What moments from the album are going to bring down the house?

I think when the first opening riff chords are played on Breathe that it will be a big moment.

    "Magnificent vs. Mercy"

Magnificent>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mercy Why are we even still talking about Mercy? It was an unfinished song that was left off of Atomic Bomb for a reason.

NLOTH - everything ATYCLB and HTDAAB wanted to be ?

As a whole package, No Line is a lot better than Atomic Bomb. I can easily listen to every song on No Line, whereas I have to skip most of A-Bomb. Could No Line be better? Maybe. ATYCLB is album that really came out at the right time for U2 and the world. I am going out on a limb here, but to...

    Breathe - REM influenced

The second guitarist in REM is Scott McCaughey. He's pretty cool.

    Magnificent's extended guitar solo...

I kinda fail to see why the version would be a better solo than what is on the album. I love it when Edge plays slide guitar solos!

I miss Zoo TV era U2...

I second this...but I also love when U2 is just being themselves, which is why I also appreciate the Elevation Tour. I think if they tried doing ZooTV now it wouldn't go over as well.

Even Better Than the Real Thing: Achtung Baby's Most Unrated Track?

Yeah pretty much everything about this song is great... slide guitar solo, 12 string guitar, great bass part, high vocal notes... I really hope they play it on the new tour!

Most Exciting Part of The Album

I love the way Bono sings the word "Magnificent" right before the guitar solo.
