360 stage not able to fit in Subiaco Oval, Perth

I have it from a reliable source, an event manager in Perth, that the U2360 stage is going to have to be significantly modified to be setup in Perth. Anyone heard anything about this??

    Breathe is a better opener

Yeah hope so, Breathe is a solid opener! I think Magnificent would be a worthy opener too

    Breathe is a better opener

I feel it was an experiment and it just was a bit boring, most people wanna hear bono sing and the crowd seems dead during the footage I have seen

    Breathe is a better opener

Now that would be an awesome opener :)

    Breathe is a better opener

I think stingray is a crap song! it bores me and has no relevance.. Breathe kind of has a cheek and boldness to it which suits an opening song, it's kind of explosive.. Stingray is a little all over the shop and then it leads into Beautiful Day which just makes no sense at all.. Just hoping it's...

Rose Bowl DVD - Part 2

I thought the DVD was the best DVD since Boston, I really enjoyed it and I thought the camera work and editing was phenomenal, that side of things was the best ever IMO. I was actually very pessimistic about it. I really thought MLK and Where The Streets Have No Name were amazing. As were the...

Finally figured out what U2 has lost...

Oh look i totally agree. I have read a few books about both artists and the art is completely different and a completely different perspective. However I find central and core to both of the artists is freedom and justice. Trent states that actually he isn't a very depressive person, he just...

Finally figured out what U2 has lost...

As an artist you don't have to portray golden all the time to inspire people. Alot of whats reassuring about being melancholy and honest about the world is that it's very reassuring. Human kind is not very kind to those who speak the truth as it is and I feel bands like Nine Inch Nails take a...

Who was the inspiration for the song “one”?

Good luck getting the christian biggots(no offense to those christians who are really beautiful people) to believe Bono would have written one of his biggest songs about a Homo dying of the filthy AIDS disease. I for one see that making the most sense.. Especially with the single cover and all...

Finally figured out what U2 has lost...

No NLOTH is alot better than ATCLB and HTDAAB but it's still got way too much golden! I think it's just way too golden in parts.

Finally figured out what U2 has lost...

I just think if every song is about Joy it's kind of a bit overkill and quite frankly boring if most of the album is that way. Especially when the first 20 years of U2 they had quite a bit of melancholy in there! It wouldn't be a U2 album without it.. Songs can mix too! Ya hear a song like...

Finally figured out what U2 has lost...

Sounds like you quoted that right from Bono, Joy is easy to write about. I think pain and being honest about yourself can be hard thats just a silly quote from Bono. I think it is more socially acceptable to complain rather than to express joy. However I don't really know what it is but it just...

Finally figured out what U2 has lost...

to me the the thing that U2 has lost is that every song is purposely trying to blow every one of there other songs out of the water. It's like they are trying too hard and are forgetting about the little songs and the melancholy songs they are so good at. Look at Until The End Of The World it's...

The song that defines U2's sound??

That lyric defines what U2 has sung about their whole career though, so thats your own personal opinion. But alot of U2's biggest songs have love in the main chorus ie: WTSHNN and Pride

The song that defines U2's sound??

definately magnificent, it has lyrics which are so reminicent of u2 through the ages and the musical side of things it has edges trademark delay with quite a bit of pride in there and a nice long crescendo like Where The Streets Have No Name also there is a nice milky guitar solo(like...
