Songs of Experience 37 - now with bonus orchestra

The more I listen to the record the more I think of how poor the Single choices were. It's not as if they were stuck for choices. If they were to release it again I'd have to go with Lights of Home (Strings) as the lead off single. Then I would have followed up while things were still hot with...

    The greatest moment on SOE

Killiney Bay even. It's where Bono lives. Killarney is in Kerry.

    The greatest moment on SOE

What is your highest point on the album ? Mine would have to be the "Nooooooo No No" coming out of the middle 8 on Red Flag Day, this is as close to early U2 as I've heard in years. Close 2nd to "Weightless" on Landlady.

Loved the live version. Bono went a bit out of tune at the bridge Killianey Bay not but got it back nicely.

Needed to be about 3 mins longer, hopefully we'll get that live. Love the first 2 verse choruses

SOE 35 - it’s finally here, let the debate on how good/bad it is begin!

Invisible would have been great without that electronic guff and heavier guitar. Loose that stupid outro as well and have a 3rd chorus.

Gonna quote myself here as my original rating came off a single listen to the poor audio version. The big winners (growers) for me have been The Little Things & Landlady. Love is Bigger The Little Things Landlady Lights of Home (String Version) Love is all we have left Book of Your Heart The...

Book of Your Heart is blooming powerful. There's going to be Crystal Ballroom debate here. Love the James Bond production on Lights of Home String Version.

Nice one, he's been very chatty since I last checked up. This day next week we'll all have heard it, originally I wanted it to leak but I think I'll wait now even if it does drop.

https://stack.com.au/music/album-review/u2-songs-experience-review/ On Songs Of Experience U2 daub colour across an ever-unrolling canvas, pausing occasionally to give sections more detail and using The Edge’s signature guitar tone sparingly. Opener Love Is All We Have Left offers a sweet...

OK . . . lets put that in the maybe pile. I like 90% of what U2 put out but I'm a fan. My wife hates them but thought EBW with the strings on the BBC was outstanding. Occasionally they still put out a track that can break the hardest of hearts. We've to remember as fans that these will be the...

Why bother, all music is subjective. Have your own opinion, don't bother trying to change anyone else's.
