Hartford Civic Center Box Office / Scalper DISGRACE

I'm not entirely clear on what a 'ticketdrop' is or why they even happen in the first place. My sense is that they set up the stage in an arena, then they survey the situation and say, 'I think we can squeeze a few more in here.' And that becomes the ticket drop? Anyway, with a band as popular...

    Boston Next Weekend

Unless I'm mistaken, U2 hasn't played 'Fast Cars' at any Boston show this year. I've been to four out of the five shows thus far (missing Show #1), and I know it wasn't played at Boston #2-#5. I unfortunately won't be at either of the two December shows, but hope everyone that goes has a great...

"U2's Vertigo Tour To End In April"

Of course, U2 has to come back to Boston next summer to Fenway Park. The Boston Globe SAID this would happen, and I have all the faith in the world that what The Boston Globe says is gospel.

Staples Center: "No cameras of any kind permitted for this show (U2)"

95% of all cell phones are also cameras, and the cell phone plays an important role for the band during the introduction of the song 'One.' 'Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.' Bring your point-and-shoot digital camera and you will be fine. I was, in Boston. If they challenge you...

A huge 'Bravo!' for the tour

Let it be said that YOU--the fans--are a vital component of what makes U2 great. I count myself among them. I cannot completely express how friendly U2 fans are. In any collection of people, you'll of course get the fringes. But U2 fans are, quite simply, some of the best PEOPLE out there. I've...

Who Dies in 'All I Want..' Video?

No...not the dwarf. He was there at the end. The viewer was left with the impression that he was upset at the girl going with the handsome guy. He climbed the rope ladder and jumped to his death, or so you were led to believe. But right away when you saw the casket, you saw that it was a large...

Who Dies in 'All I Want..' Video?

OK...please forgive me if this has been discussed and debated to death. But who is it that dies in the 'All I Want is You' video? I think it is a fabulous song, and the video is altogether haunting. But I can't figure out who dies: it's either the girl or the guy she was with. But you see...

A huge 'Bravo!' for the tour

As I observe the tour thus far, I have been absolutely amazed at the sheer professionalism of the U2 organization. This goes far beyond the four men on stage. We know them and love them. But up and down the U2 organization, it is one First Class collection of professionals. I've seen U2 four...

MERGED--> do u2 seem to play more enthusiastically in NYC than other cities?

People try to make some correlation between playing new songs and great audiences. It's not as though the band says, 'This is a great crowd...let's play 'Crumbs!' The set list is typed out and distributed before the show. 'Crumbs' comes, good crowd or bad.

Why did U2 place it 'safe' for 5 nights???

As has been mentioned, the main set list needs to stay as-is because of the choreography with the lighting and graphics. The encores are where deviations can be expected, but even here you don't always get that. Case in point in Boston on October 10/4, the set list showed (I think) 'Yaweh' and...

    Bono Killed The Sun

He also killed the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, so he's not making many friends up around these parts.

    The Red Sox shirt "Scandal"

Well, the irony of it all is this: He and Larry wear a Red Sox jersey and the team ends up losing three straight. I was there in the ellipse and, at the time, thought it was a wonderful moment...especially watching Larry 'Can We See You Smile Just ONCE?' Mullen grab the jersey at the end and...

Bono spent about 20 mins outside at msg/nyc GA line....

Sounds like what they did in Boston last Tuesday. Edge, Adam, and Bono all came out individually to meet and greet the fans. I had my ticket signed by all three. I'll tell you, for their station in life these guys are friendly beyond belief. I am so proud to be a fan. Yes, they are rock...

Has meeting the band been easy this leg?

Coming for soundcheck after 4pm on the day of the October 4 show in Boston, Adam, then Edge, then Bono all met the fans awaiting them. It was a magical moment for me, as I got that night's ticket signed by all three. That my ticket later wouldn't scan because of the autographs across the...

    Larry and the Red Sox

Makes you wonder what would happen if U2 were ever on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

    Larry and the Red Sox

Dear U2: If someone hands any of you a Patriots jersey in December, please resist the temptation to put it on. Just a bit of friendly advice from what is left of Red Sox Nation. Thank you. Chris in NH

So who thinks they'll tour NA stadiums next year?

That makes NO sense. If you like BMWs but hate spinach, you want someone telling you how incongruent that is??

So who thinks they'll tour NA stadiums next year?

I can tell you that The Boston Globe hopes they come. They noted that U2 would play Boston's Fenway Park next year. All that this Liberal 'Dan Rather Can Do No Wrong' newspaper needs is another bit of failed and blatantly untrue reporting. And if an entire stadium tour isn't in the offing, I...

    Keane - How are they?

At the shows in Boston, I saw a notebook PC adjacent to the keyboard player. Wanna bet they've got Accidental Damage Coverage on that baby? That keyboard player is GREAT! The whole band is great. A bit of Freddie Mercury in the singer's voice, although I'm sure he's been told that like umpteen...

    Keane - How are they?

Keane were GREAT. I have their album, and I know their songs. For a three-piece, they rock! Even the two new songs on their upcoming album sounded marvelous!

did anyone meet or see the band in boston?

Adam got out of his Town Car and was most gracious. He signed just about everything. Then, Edge came walking down the ramp from the arena. he did the same. Finally, Bono was parked a hundred yards or so from the ramp--and those of us gathered--in his Black Expedition. We all saw him, and finally...

    New Songs in Boston?

One word: 'October.' After all, these will be the first two concerts in the month of October, and it IS an easy song for them to play: Edge on piano; Bono on vocals, and a little help from Larry while Adam takes a break :-) Chris in NH

How great is the Portland show going to be?

Nothing against Portland, but that last show has as much chance of being an ordinary show as it does of being a great one. The crowd may or may not be 'into it.' And the crowd-band interplay makes or breaks the show. There's no way anyone can state before the fact that a show will be a great one...

Is that picture by his name showing his chin, or something else?

    Edge Quote on 3rd Leg

Is there any credence to the oft-mentioned suggestion that U2's shows on this 3rd leg will be shorter than the shows on the 1st leg? Chris in NH
