What can U2 do to reach the status that The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin have in America? What to do to better their sales in the USA?

why The Best Of 80-90 can't crack the pop catalogue chart?

ok guys you are right, the fact is that I am fascinated by catalogue sales and I'd really like to see U2 doing well in the catalogue chart but I always see that other bands beat U2 in this chart and I am really envious. I'd really like to see Best Of 80-90 on the top of catalog chart for ages!

why The Best Of 80-90 can't crack the pop catalogue chart?

let's face the truth U2 as for sales is not in the same league of Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Metallica and The Beatles These bands have always albums in the top 25: Dark Side Of The moon for Pink Floyd, Back in Black for AC/DC, The Black Album for Metallica and 1 for The Beatles. As for sales U2 are...

why The Best Of 80-90 can't crack the pop catalogue chart?

I don't understand why The Best Of 80-90 isn't charting in the top 25 pop catalog chart, It has a lot of smash hits: Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Streets, I Still Haven't Found, Desire and With Or Without You So why it doesn't chart in the top 25?

why The Best Of 80-90 can't crack the pop catalogue chart?

Hi everybody, I can't understand why bands that are less popular than U2 in America like Bon Jovi and Queen have always albums in the top 25 Billboard's pop catalogue chart, while U2 not. Maybe U2 are not so huge in America as we supposed to be or Bon Jovi is becoming huger than U2 in America?

Will Bomb achieve the 4 Platinum status in Europe?

Great job edge3! Now we know that Bomb is 200k from 4 Platinum, but I think it's going to take months before the achievement. P.S.: As an italian I'm proud that Italy is on a per capita basis the most "U2's nation" in the world  (apart Ireland of course...).

Will Bomb achieve the 4 Platinum status in Europe?

It's certified as 3xPlatinum by IFPI, but I think it sold a lot more than that. I read that Bomb sold about 550k in Italy, 450k in France and 400k in Germany. It has also sold 200k+ in Spain and we know that UK sales are nearly 1.200.000. So it's: 1.200.000 (UK) + 550.000 (IT) + 450.000 (FR) +...

    Oasis popularity in America

Champagne Supernova didn't chart in the Billboard Hot 100 just because it wasn't released as a material single and back in 1996 to chart on the Hot 100 you had to do that. But if you look at how it charted on the Top 40 Mainstream chart you will find that Champagne Supernova was a top 10 hit.

    Oasis popularity in America

Two big hits, Wonderwall first when MG peaked at #4 and lingered in the top 10 for 15 weeks and then Champagne Supernova (a masterpiece song) stabilized MG in the top 20 for another 15 weeks.

    Oasis popularity in America

Soldatti thanks for the info about Oasis chart run in the US. These data show how Oasis with Morning Glory was the biggest band in the world. I mean 40 weeks spent in the billboard top 40 it's an amazing achievement, problably even better than the joshua tree chart run in the top 40!!

    Oasis popularity in America

Oasis is maybe the only band that for a couple of years has replaced U2 as the biggest band in the world. In 95/96 they were huge all over the world, also in America that has always seemed to dismiss them in those years were really big having 2 smash hits in the top 10 radio airplay...

When I talk about the top tours af all time I don't mean the Gross, I don't care at all about how much U2 gain for their concerts, I'm talking about ATTENDANCE.... ...Tickets sold to the public.... What makes a tour really Big is how many people attend to it. So Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd...

Would U2 be able to make another stadium tour in America?

Of course the arenas are perfect for the acoustics, but can you imagine the awesomeness of a spectacular outdoor stage? for Christ's sake remember ZooTv, go and watch again Live from Sidney!:heart:   The crazy stage, the concept behind it blow your mind away! I want...

Would U2 be able to make another stadium tour in America?

I'm disappointed that U2 won't do any stadium tour in America on the 3rd leg, just another ordinary arena one. I believe that the band could fill again stadiums in America after the big success of the Elevation tour just like the glorious days of ZooTv. Bruce Springsteen and Rolling Stones...
