Kendrick Lamar - "XXX." ft. U2

As you may have heard U2 has a new collaborative song on Kendrick Lamar's new album, DAMN, which drops this Friday. Should be a great one. Kendrick Lamar Announces New Album DAMN. Featuring U2 and Rihanna | Pitchfork Here's the album's first single, Humble:

Would Have Been The Perfect Tour For Multiple Setlists...

If this were an arena tour, it would have been absolutely on point to do this as playing the same 11 JT songs every night would make it fairly easy to have two otherwise different setlists for the remaining dozen songs. And that would have made sense to do if you're playing multiple nights in...

Here's Where All The Tickets Went

Beyond Ticketmaster's own reselling site, well, read it and weep... U2 | Concert Tickets! Literally adds up to the thousands for a lot of arenas. And they seem to be completely legitimate and are even selling lower level seats for way under the $300+ price range over on Ticketmaster. This is...

    Best TV of 2014

We were going to do a year-end list a year or two ago and kind of just made a thread talking about great television that trailed off. I guess we can do the same again. Drama Series: The Affair (Season 1) - Understated and emotionally moving, the two leads should probably earn Emmy trophies...

Poll For Songs On The Next Tour

Alright, so here's a massive poll that I'd like as many people as possible to partake in. The hope is that the results will be hand delivered to the band or that they'll at least be pointed in this direction to see them. If the band can see clear evidence of what hardcore fans want to hear, we...

    Two Important Things Of Recent

    1) If you haven't heard the new Brian Eno record (Eno and Hyde's High Life), please do so when you get a chance. The opening track is extremely reminiscent of The Unforgettable Fire. And I'm not the only one that thinks so... Pitchfork: "The opening “Return” is nine minutes of drone-guitar...

    Survivor: Cagayan

Survivor - CBS.com Cast interviews, photos and preview video are now all up on the official site. 18 players, three tribes of 6. Brains vs. Beauty vs. Brawn. Tribes seem pretty even as they thankfully didn't pad the Beauty tribe with extra athletic men (which would have voided the entire...

    Anybody watch this week's Bunheads?

The Edge was mentioned about twenty times. Two characters were attempting to build an amphitheater and they got into talking about how The Edge's development hopes were crushed by a planning commission. I'm sure it went over 99.9% of the audience's heads. The second scene where he's mentioned...

    Critics' Choice Television Awards

A great batch of nominees this year with nothing really sticking out as a missed opportunity. I guess snubbing Louie for best comedy might be the biggest oversight. Nominees: Best Drama Series Breaking Bad – AMC Downton Abbey – PBS Game of Thrones – HBO The Good Wife – CBS Homeland –...

    Interference's 50 Greatest TV Shows

Since the Breaking Bad thread has had some interesting discussion about where that series ranks among the other all-time greats. I figured we'd open up a thread to have some back-and-forth about what constitutes great television and just what shows are the cream of the crop of the last...

    R.I.P. Sonic Youth

So, Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore are getting a divorce. They will honor their remaining shows in South America, but we all know there's no way the divorcees are going to want to continue on in a band together. So goes the end of another legendary alternative act that provided us with great...

Big Brother 13: Fans vs. "Favorites"

Official Website for BB13 New season starts on Thursday, July 7th at 9/8 central. Last season was absolutely horrible, but pretty much everything from the previous five or six years was highly watchable. First twist of the year is that there are eight new contestants competing against three...

Paul Simon - So Beautiful Or So What

Jesus Christ, I did not expect this. A very, very good listen. Kind of feels like someone blasted the Paul Simon album into space and let it float back down forty years later, collecting a lot of digital debris along the way. Judging by the Metascore, I think he'll earn yet another Grammy...

    U2's Best Albums: Final Round!

Various polls on Interference throughout the years, including one that I've just conducted (Albums You Meet In U2 Heaven), have nearly always determined that U2's triumvirate of masterpiece albums seems to be Achtung Baby, Joshua Tree & The Unforgettable Fire. Via a new polling system, we have...

Would You Rather Have The New Album...

...be a U2 classic on par with their greatest works, but have to wait another four years for it, or have three new albums in the next year that are on par with the band's weaker albums? Very tricky question. On the one hand, those three albums could have enough U2 classics to equal a whole...

How many songs should the new album have?

Let's have a vote! Be reasonable and choose a # that would likely fit a disc of U2's music. I say, ten. Last two albums clearly had one downright terrible abortion of a song (Crumbs, Stand Up Comedy), so I'd rather they excise the most tedious, rock-by-numbers tracks in advance.

U2's Fourth Best Album - Runoff

Alright, so we did ranked choice voting for the last round, but only out to three albums, so unfortunately, the top vote-getter (No Line On The Horizon) did not clear 50% of the overall vote total. So, here we are now with the run-off vote between our top two contenders, Zooropa & No Line On...
