October 1 - Scott Stadium - Charlottesville VA

SethVincent - Aw, close, but not us. So funny, we were right next to a dad with his son from Ohio...so many great people at U2 shows! My linemates (of probably 10 or so) went straight from the line, in together, and all next to each other on the inside of the pit, back rail. I always have...

Hey - I think I you were standing next to my fiance and me last night... maybe? Inside, edge side? Anyhow, I do agree that Bono's voice is amazing, and I'm utterly impressed at what he's doing *regardless of age*. Just speaking entirely as an observation, there were some off key moments...

Yeah, I do think he was a bit hoarse last night. Amazing, of course, but he did sound like he'd be belting it out for the previous few nights! :) Amazing Grace, for instance (unless it was my location?) definitely has some notes he didn't quite get. Didn't take away from the show, just wanted...

Hey locals...looking for advice, if you don't mind! I'm staying at the hampton inn on main street. I looked at map, and it looks easily walkable...just over a mile or so. I'm just not sure what the streets are like. Are they mostly pedestrian friendly? Or at least manageable? Thank you...

While I'm sure a U2 show is amazing anywhere, I've just had bad experiences with FedEx - getting there, getting out, general state of the stadium... very excited to see Scott Stadium - I've heard good things! I'm in GA, so the seats v bleachers weren't really a question.

October 1 - Scott Stadium - Charlottesville VA

 A little under 2.5 hours to Charlottesville from DC. FedEx is a pain to deal with though (and not very nice generally!), and a much bigger stadium than Scott. I'm sure U2 would still be amazing there, but I think Scott is the better choice!

October 1 - Scott Stadium - Charlottesville VA

Just wanted to say hi - going to the Charlottesville show. I'm from DC, but we decided to do scott stadium instead of fedex. Anyway, very excited! Thanks for all the info locals have offered so far! We're staying at the hampton inn on main st, so hoping to walk there (i know it's a ways, but...

anyone know when the album comes out here in the US? I see that about 2 YEARS ago, I posted that I needed to get it (still not out in the US), and I haven't yet. Horrible! :)

The Frames - New Album "The Cost"

I saw the swell season show here in the US a couple of weeks back (on the first night of the tour). amazing. As for the album, yeah, seems like it'll be a while. The website says where you can buy it online though. I bought burn the maps via a cd shop in dublin because the same time lapse...

    Josh Ritter

It very well could've been that Jamie Cullum is just not my favorite type of music. I think the crowd had something to do with it too. He's clearly very talented, but the cheesiness factor was just SO high, on and off the stage. Had I listened to the album and liked it lots though, could've...

    Josh Ritter

So I'm going to resurrect something I posted AGES ago. Just saw Josh Ritter (opening for jamie cullum, meh) last night. I'd sooo recommend looking into him. Wonderful show - he is the nicest guy, his music is amazing (sometimes sounds like nick drake, sometimes like bob dylan, sometimes...

    new puppy

Yeah, it's great to yell for her in public. :) Or I end up trying to defend the fact that she's not solely named after a beer (to those who know me well). Nope! hypo-allergenic, or as close as dogs can be, really...
