One of the judges who made the IVF decision in Alabama actually used religious language to explain and defend it. Church and state doesn't matter to these people. They want Christianity to control government and legal decisions.

I saw a clip of Trump speaking in front of some religious group and he used the phrase "cross of Christ". Him using that phrase makes me ill.

I would like to do a Will Smith slap on him and yell out "keep Christ's name out of your mouth". He knows zero about Jesus and what he taught, that is more obvious than his orange makeup and tanner.

USA Today-the Chief Justice!

In his concurring opinion last week, Chief Justice Tom Parker, an elected Republican, invoked similar reasoning.

"In summary, the theologically based view of the sanctity of life adopted by the People of Alabama encompasses the following: (1) God made every person in His image; (2) each person therefore has a value that far exceeds the ability of human beings to calculate; and (3) human life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God, who views the destruction of His image as an affront to Himself."

They’re not stopping at cells. They want to regulate sex. No more wild and crazy hookups, every thrust must serve the purpose of God and hit the target! More babies!!!!

this is what it feels like, heteros, to have an entire political party obsessed with when, how, where, and with whom you have sex.

These guys aren’t even tied to Trump as much as they were empowered by him. Even if old man Biden wins 2024 it’s not like this movement just fades away.

Every election until these idiots are shamed enough to go into hiding or they become broke and can’t grift no more….the Dems better have a strong lineup being prepped for democracy in 2028 and beyond.

Look at what a handful of MAGA types have done already over the last 12 months.

A US airman has died after setting himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC on Sunday, shouting "free Palestine".
Aaron Bushnell, 25, was taken to hospital after Secret Service officers extinguished the flames.
Before setting himself alight in what he called an "extreme act of protest", he said he would "no longer be complicit in genocide".

Absolutely horrible thing to do. I just don’t get it.

First of all why is this one issue the thing that sent his mind to the extreme of killing himself over ? What about China’s rounding up and interment camps of their Muslim population. Or Sudan. Or Congo…or Ukraine.

Why is it this particular group suffering so much worse than anyone other group that is suffering ?

There are certain sects of Buddhism and other Eastern traditions that aren’t against this act of protest. The tradition i follow, and my own personal belief is that the Buddha would never greenlight such an act of harm. The intention is romanticized and even if it were noble, those monks who have done this before spent their entire lives working towards removing any doubt of a self (could argue there’s no one to harm then in protest) and the complete dedication to the end of suffering for all beings. This guy was 25/26. Seems like he had passion but it led to his demise.

This guy went from 0 to 1000mph. I feel like he could have maybe taken some smaller steps on the path of protest before death. Like maybe quit the military. Go on a hunger strike. Get involved in politics. Donations. Charity.

Not setting yourself on fucking fire and video taping it.

File this under online isn’t real life

Does Biden have some work to do in Michigan with the protest voters, yes. But the way media and clickbait was hyping this vote it made it sound like he was doomed.

Apparently Michigan always has an uncommitted vote. And the bar was set so low, and the turnout was very high that it appears like a major score.

In the end it fell right in line with the past uncommitted

I randomly woke up at 3 am and saw the NYT alert on my phone that said "Biden wins Michigan but faces opposition to his Gaza policy: Trump easily defeats Hailey."

I went uh oh and clicked the notification and checked it out.

Biden 81%
Uncommitted 14%
Williamson 3%
Phillips 3%

Trump 68%
Haley 27%
Uncommitted 3%
Other 2%

Where the concern would be is that Trump's 68% had more total votes than Biden's 81%.

Now we've seen a lot of exit polling that the majority of Haley voters are never Trumpers - and it's not crazy that a challenger saw more people come out in a primary than the incumbent.

But, yea - Dems are going to need to crank up that turnout come November.

Hamas just rejected the latest ceasefire offer. I’m sure it’s Joe Biden’s fault terrorists won’t negotiate in good faith.

In all seriousness, why would Hamas accept anything this year ? The more they hold out the worse it looks for Israel and US. Hamas and Bibi would both love to have Trump in office. More war, more chaos.

I saw the interview with Netanyahu over the weekend, I think it was on Face The Nation?

He's bad news, and I agree that he would rather have Trump in office. The US has enabled that guy for a long time, so you can't exactly turn around now and try to control him.

This woman reminds me of my Mom, my Mom called him names even worse than an a hole. She always told me he would never get elected in 2016, and I told her that she better prepare herself because I thought he would.

I will never forget us going to do early voting together and both voting for Hillary Clinton. I looked over at my Mom with tears in my eyes, because at that point she was able to get out and vote and because I still held out hope that we were voting for the first woman US President.

I miss her so much and would love to be able to talk with her about everything that has happened since then. She would be so disappointed in this country, just as I am.

Biden made a plea just after 10/7 for Israeli government to heed the warning of the US mistakes after 9/11.

Instead they pushed thru like the war hawks they are. While i do not believe this to be a fucking genocide like many on the left (and the fact they spend most of their time twisting any semantics to try and fit their narrative), the IDF has been shameful in their actions.

This is war but not a traditional enemy. I am not an expert on war strategies. Hearing the word surgical sounds acceptable in the response but not sure how it executes without the loss of innocent life.

But I am tired of all the focus and hatred on one side. How often do we hear about Hamas and their governing ? Their treatment of women, gays, religious minorities ? If Hamas had the weaponry to eliminate Israel would they hesitate ?

And now you’ve got two sides who will not give for a ceasefire. Biden has been publicly calling for one over the last few weeks to a month.

It’s not like military AID is flowing, so saying cutoff is moot until Congress acts.

I think with a Bibi controlled government that AID must now be conditional.

I think the obvious problem is the number of innocent Palestinian civilians who have nothing to do with Hamas who are being killed. Who are starving.

Netanyahu is going full on scorched earth, and he tries to justify it by saying that the US would have done far worse and comparing 9/11 and all terrorist atrocities.

Where does that get us other than more and more innocent civilians dead every day and the Israeli hostages not free. If they're still alive I don't even want to imagine what's happening to them.

Bibi has a point if the President was Bush/Trump/GOP after a terror attack. We've seen that our selves with Afghan/Iraq.....and to a lesser extent meddling in Libya and Syria

It does seem like Obama and Biden are a little more careful with their authorization of strikes. Trump dropped the largest non nuclear bomb we have in our arsenal in Afghanistan.....just cause he wanted to.

He was good at politics and manipulating the system to his parties needs.

Severely damaged the country with his actions.

shockingly enough - the self proclaimed billionaire? not a billionaire.
