speaking of that radical change in his voice after Lovetown..do you guys know when Night and Day was recorded? I mean exact month. It would be very interesting to know this because when you listen for example to Where Did It all go wrong(recorded in May/June 1990) you can hear that his voice...
I think I can say the same thing about this song as Last Unicorn. EBW was the song of my past autumn and helped me to keep my head above water emotionally during that period. This is the song that takes me back in memories to last year's gigs... btw. hi Silvia:wave:
yesterday at gig in Vienna has Bono sang NYD again better than before. The part "chosen few" was sung in full voice and I think he held it for longer but I can't find one friggin' video of this performance...
When his falsetto is as good as during Zoo TV then why he doesn't try to use it also in Unforgettable Fire. He's not doing that song justice. He could pull it off much better.
Also Moment Of Surrender. What happened to it? One verse omitted, his singing in this song is nowhere near how he sang...
Pretty ace band. True rock 'n' roll. I think they deserve more attention. They're a bit underrated... I prefer their older albums, with more lo-fi sound.
I recently discovered one very good version, from Edinburgh 1984-11-05.
Edge makes some mistakes or what at the beginning, very unpolished version but that makes it amazing...Bono even doesn't sing the first wide awakes but then second time gives everything to it...my fav from UF tour.
In my opinion all of the songs from POP except Do You Feel Loved played at this gig sounded great, even Staring at the Sun, it was just a false start...I like the 1st american leg of Popmart more than 3rd or 4th leg. That "unrehearsedness" seems somehow attractive to me.
