Can confirm Headache’s notes about timing. Walked in at 7:15 and was about 8 people back on Adam’s corner. Honestly I could have gotten to that spot as late as 8pm, that’s when it started to fill up.
Should probably note that this was the Wed 10/11 show. I wouldn’t be surprised if trevgreg is...
I don't love Elevation either and wish they'd change it out. But also, my take on this song has always been "it's not a great song but my god does it play well live"
I think that's all this is, unfortunately. I won't be at Sphere until next week, but it seems like it still bangs live. And...
Just looking for face, so they're $90/ea.
This is credit card entry, so I'd have to meet you before hand and walk you to the gate for the CC entry. I'm planning to get to Soldier Field a bit before 7pm.
Help me out here, folks.
I really like the first and third verses of this one, but WTF is Bono going on about in the second verse? How in the world does that fit with the story he's telling in the rest of the song?
Am I missing something, or is this just normal Bono lyrical clunkiness?
While I think there are a number of songs that could be released, realistically there probably isn't a legit Top 40-esque single on this album. That's just not really who U2 is compared to the rest of the market these days.
However, Song for Someone could absolutely smash on Adult Contemporary.
Yes. In the US I'd say NYC, Boston, Chicago, and LA are particularly high-demand markets for U2 shows. Not coincidentally, three of those are the largest US markets, but they do have a fairly high concentration of U2 fans regardless of their sheer size. Based on previous tours I would think...
You aren't guaranteed. I'd say the urgency to get one is largely dependent on market. If you're in a big market with lots of potential U2 fans it's probably a good idea to have it - I would, if only as a safety.
This tour is likely to be arenas, I believe. That could impact things a little bit...
It's playing in California - I saw it about three times last weekend. Once during Wimbledon, don't recall what it was during on the other instances, but it's worth noting that I've watched very little television over the last week and still caught it several times. Might be location too - Los...
Largely true.
Overstated. Certainly there are plenty who detest U2, but there's a significant number of fans who like the band, they just aren't rabid fans. For most it's not really black & white.
I was in college when ATYCLB was released. I don't know if midnight releases are still...
Just a quick update - the order hasn't changed since I did this about 30 rankings ago. It remains:
