Ok, we were polite to Kings of Leon in Van. I liked them too but I heard they were even booed in some places. I think Black Eyed Peas would be booed. I hope that is a misprint for Van fans sakes.

Snow Patrol in TO would be excellent. Hopefully, Martha Wainwright could join them for a live version of Set The Fire To The Third Bar:hyper:

Will we have 2 opening acts like last time? We had Starsailor announced with the Killers in Cardiff at the last minute, which was a sweet combo.

Personally, I like the KC and SP's last albums, so if they play their more recent stuff, then boo. But they could have picked worse, so its better than nothing. They were never going to have any bands I really liked anyway.

Black Eyed Peas: Party time... I could live with that very well.
Kaiser Chiefs: :drool::drool:
Elbow: :combust: and  cause I live in Brazil. Hopefully they will bring them here like they did with Franz Ferdinand.

Kaiser Chiefs are playing Lollapalooza on 7th August so they most likely aren't going to be in Chorzow nor Zagreb:sad: They were the ones I was looking forward seeing the most. I hate Snow Patrol and Black Eyed Peas... well...:down:. Elbow would be the best second possibility for me.

you all need to ease up on the hip hop hate. Remember when Public Enemy opened during Zoo TV? But, boo on the BEP's. Although, the first album (Fergie free) wasn't half bad.

The only good opener for any U2 show I've seen was PJ Harvey. Oh, and when they came on stage to Arcade Fire.

Seriously, Doves and U2. You can't make that kind of line up. Like the Who and Zeppelin.

These all suck. Why can't The Edge get Secret Machines; I saw them before Interpol in 2004 and they were pretty cool.

Really really hope the Kaiser Chiefs are not supporting them in Glasgow!! Elbow would be ok i suppose. Most likely Glasvegas and one of the first 2.

Interpol and BRMC the last time so it's a bit of a drop.

Not a fan of any of those really. Snow Patrol are pathetic. Kaiser Chiefs are fun but meaningless. BEP, well…. what can you say.

I had Kanye on Vertigo and I thought he was very good, but I was up close. Generally, hip-hop does not work very well in stadiums.

What happened to them thinking outside the box? Phoenix would have been perfect, and they're putting out a new album this spring.

Black Eyed Peas will easily be their worst opening band since...the 80's?

hey, it could be worse (Dashboard Confessionals).

I had them for a show:down:
and KOL:down:couldn't understand a word they sang
and Galvin Rossdale's terrible band...but that show was made better by managing front row...and believe me...he is easy on the eyes:drool:

Kanye West did NOT go over well with U2 audiences.

He didn't? Coulda fooled me, he and Damian Marley got more love than Keane, KOL and Gavin at the shows I was at. WAY more. And rightfully so, they were WAY better.

I'm not thrilled about BEP but I can say that they have a very energetic show, so maybe it wouldn't be half bad..

Kayne would have been awesome to see, but I didn't get him for any of the shows I went to :(

I dont usually listen to the opening acts so it doesn't matter to me but BEP have some fun songs to groove to and bob your head, so I don't subscribe to all the hate for them. It's good to have a group like BEP that makes music intended for people to go crazy and jump around and whatnot, because it will get the GA peeps amped for the main event. Kayne did a good job from the youtube videos I have seen. Opening bands know that the crowd is mostly there to see U2 anyway.

BEP are indeed a fun band, but they suck live.

Isn't opening for U2 like the kiss of death for a lot of bands anyway?

Bjork
Nelly Furtado
No Doubt

..and many, many more!!!
