Has Electrical Storm Ever Been Played Live?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Eh. I think this is one of the more forgettable songs in the canon.

Though I do think, with the right arrangement, it could be worth trying.

I believe it's their only SINGLE never to be played live.

Correct.

There is a soundcheck from Brussels from the Vertigo Tour that we have recorded which has Edge playing some Electrical Storm guitar parts, however.

Such a shame, it would make a great live track. ES is one of my favourite U2 songs, such a dark beauty. I don't know why they never played it live.

What cracks me up is that I've heard a U2 tribute band play it live, but U2 themselves? Nooo.

Agreed. I don't think it gets enough love to be honest.
It's one of their best songs from the last decade and a personal favourite of mine. Haunting and beautiful, especially the single version.

ES is an average song, and though it could work better live I think there's nothing to be worried about;)

I really hope seeing U2 playing ES next tour as they always include some old songs live. It´s an amazing and beautiful song. One of my favorite and I´m sure it will work  live

Hope my dream comes true...

LET´S SEE COLORS THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN :bono:

Not good enough to save for an album, and not good enough to be played live.

Though I do admit it's strange that they played the equally disposable Sweetest Thing and not this one.

Personally I'd rather hear a full band Ground Beneath Her Feet.

Andre was that "The Aussie U2 Show"?

I heard them do it live and it was pretty good.

Yeah, saw them play it in August. They actually used it to open their set, which was a bit odd, and perhaps even more strange was that Fake Bono added a snippet of Don't Cry For Me Argentina, but they still played the song really well. If four Aussie blokes in a pub can do it and sound good, it should be piss-easy for U2 to pull it out.

I think I praise the band enough to throw at least a little criticism out there.

C'mon, hear me out. "Heavy as a truck"? The guy who wrote "So Cruel" can do better than that.

YES. I usually like their acoustic songs live but this one ... ugh.

Didn't Edge play bits of ES at one of the soundchecks in Europe though ?

I love the song, but I do hate the "heavy as a truck" line. It just seems so forced...like, "I need something that rhymes with 'luck'...hmm...".

That line doesn't bother me cos I always hear it as (and sing it as) "heavy as a drug". Electrical Storm is one of the best songs this decade. Definitely deserves to be played live!
