Inspired by and paying homage to LemonMacphisto’s amazing revisionist list (and kind of riding his coattails) I too have come up with an insanely long list chronicling U2’s career on a different earth. It’s kind of a prequel to my original “re-imagining” of the last few years of U2’s career. I only read LM’s list once, but after putting together my list I went back and re-read his and was surprised to see how similar certain things were…
I also noticed how some things that U2 have done are perfection in my eyes, no need for re-imagining. So they remain as they are. And some things that I think are perfect got a little bit of tweaking, a lot of work went into the singles, nothing major…
I’ve also been spending the last week or so listening to some of these new tracklisting and so forth. I think they sound good, not better than the real thing (except in the case of ATYCLB) but good enough…

U2 decide to do some ‘house cleaning’ by releasing a 3 CD set (or you could purchase them individually) that chronicles their past “trilogies”. Using the first track and last tracks of said ‘trilogy’, they book-end each CD to show who they were and where they were musically in those time periods, not necessarily the hits.
They also release three singles for each time period, each containing one song not originally released as a single, accompanied with live tracks from that era.

I also noticed how some things that U2 have done are perfection in my eyes, no need for re-imagining. So they remain as they are. And some things that I think are perfect got a little bit of tweaking, a lot of work went into the singles, nothing major…

U2 decide to do some ‘house cleaning’ by releasing a 3 CD set (or you could purchase them individually) that chronicles their past “trilogies”. Using the first track and last tracks of said ‘trilogy’, they book-end each CD to show who they were and where they were musically in those time periods, not necessarily the hits.
They also release three singles for each time period, each containing one song not originally released as a single, accompanied with live tracks from that era.

Why remove When I Look At The World!? One of U2's most underrated songs IMO. Wild Honey is also great and Grace is the perfect closer for the album. Love You Like Mad or Stateless would not be an even tradeoff for those songs.
