WORST song survivor: war (round 4)

last round had our first three way tie! like a song, two hearts beat as one, and 40 all got the boot.

full results:
seconds: 10
like a song: 13
drowning man: 9
the refugee: 2
two hearts beat as one: 13
red light: 0
surrender: 6
40: 13

the rules are pretty easy. this is for worst song U2 survivor. this means you vote OFF your FAVOURITE song. the goal here is to see what is the least-liked U2 song for each album, and narrow it down to least-liked song ever.

- seconds
- drowning man
- the refugee
- red light
- surrender

you are to vote based on the studio version of that particular song. do not vote based on how it sounds live or how it sounded remixed.

timing of the poll: there are so many rounds, it really makes sense to keep each individual round as a timed ONE day poll. when we get to the end of each round, the final poll will last two days, to give more people a chance to vote.

ties will be broken by eliminating both songs from the poll UNLESS we are in the top five. even if there are three tied, all three will be eliminated. any more of a tie (four-way tie, etc.), then we will have a tiebreaker round.

also, when we get down to the final round (the winner of each previous round going against each other), these polls will last two days. the same tiebreaking rules apply.

remember, vote for what you consider to be the strongest song, or your favourite. this competition is to determine the WORST U2 song.

to view what's been considered eligible and what album (or b-sides) will be used next, please consult the preliminaries thread. note: this thread is now closed; i am just including the link for your viewing pleasure.

Surrender is an awesome song. It needs to be voted off of this list.

Drowning Man, which is, as I have said in prior threads, one of the most gorgeous songs ever written. Should've been second to go.
"Mediocrity is never so dangerous as when it is dressed up as sincerity." - Søren Kierkegaard

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

"Seconds" should be next to go..........and I'll be shocked if "The Refugee" isn't the "winner" of this poll..........I know it'll be up against "Red Light" but "Red Light/Surrender" are very stylish odes to Scorsese's Taxi Driver........"The Refugee" is easily the worst song out of these, imo....
